Sunday8PM
@evilhippy - You mean the hammer spring, right? Cos I don't see how the recoil spring would be affected unless the slide was also in a locked back position during the time.
canizzle
Loaded gun, but not in the chamber.
GigaScythe
Real Gun have recoil springs too. It probably would be harmed. And you NEVER leave a real gun loaded and ready to fire. NEVER. That is just plain stupid. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, cocked and locked is the preferred carry position for.. well.. most people. Law enforcement, military, people who don't want to fumble around when there's an intruder around.. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.
hardboiledcop
if its in your control, ie on your person then its fine, but if its left where any unknowing individual can find it and harm themselves. no.
Kingcodez
Well I shot my old glock sideways. After about 5 or so shots something broke. What happened was the loading arm thing on the Piston unit (This houses the rocket thing) snapped off. So when the gun went to chamber another round it couldn't because there was nothing to "Push" the BB up the loading ramp and into the Hop. But it did feel cool shooting it sideways. Sh0ty
You fired the gun sideways and it broke? That doesn't make a ton of sense to me. I know the gas will behave differently, but I don't think it's enough to frag your gun. I guess I learned something new. -Sh0ty

canizzle
Hey you know how you put toothpaste onto a polish slide so that it would keep the oxidized layer out? Do you wipe the toothpaste with a clean towel or do you wash it with water?
zreaper
Well my KJ glock went a died on me yesterday (its now just venting gas constantly ) so i thought i'd try and make it look a bit better and use it for display...but then i lost the front sight (sorry about my finger being in the pic) Edited September 10, 2006 by zreaper
Sh0ty
I can most likely tell you what's the problem, but I need a good pic of the internals. -Sh0ty

That's what my Glock did to me, and it was the internal hammer that'd packed in. edit: oh shiz, sorry for quoting the pic >_< Edited September 10, 2006 by GigaScythe
zreaper
Did yours jsut start venting gas out the barrel? And did the slide keep jaming like 1/2 of the way back? (those r the main problems). Their are a few other probs with it like the little bit of flexiable rubbery stuff inside the hop up unit has split . I was thinking abut looking for a cheap TM G26 on the forums and then just using the hammer and blowback from that in the KJ body.

zreaper
i dunno the top of it looks fairly mirrorish i find silver polish works well for an almost mirror finish
canizzle
I consider if sun reflects off if it shiny, then it is mirrorish.

TheLair
I meant for a person to carry it like that. A civilian, not law enforcement. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sure all the time. My dad does it with his Glock. On duty its ready to rock in his holster, and off duty in the fanny pack thing. But guns that are DA/SA will be decocked after chambered. So they can fire it in DA when it is drawn
ronburgundy__
You dont leave loaded guns lying around the house is what I am trying to say. Gun safety. Kids touch things they probably shouldnt.

I wet sanded with different grade sandpapers (360 up to 1200 grit), then used "Fast Cut Compound" to polish it. Its works just like toothpaste, but a bit better. Very nice, how is it working out for you. Any Problems? Im thinking of getting one my self. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks. The G19 is a very reliable pistol. My one been skirmished by previous owner(s), about several thousand rounds put through it, and its still going strong. Kin
Sh0ty
I have a G23F, and on semi, it has never misfired, fired when dropped, not fired, or jammed. Easily the best pistol around. (and the full auto is an awesome option, for that "oh crud, I'm cornered" moments) -Sh0ty EDIT: and the frames finish is sooo seductive.
