darkchild130
Some of you may remember i said i would dye some ACUs to get rid of the horrible grey/blueness. Here's the result (with my GRAW badge attached) Nothing spectacular, just sharing my experimentation. Result was acheived by using Dylon machine dye and i used about 3/4 of a packet. doc_newstead
Tres cool It looks a bit like washed-out CADPAT (hence the pun?) to me.
JCYC5
Very nice and different! But I can't really imagine anywhere in which that color pattern would work very well... Looks like a VERY faded CADPAT
darkchild130
Yes, a passing resemblance to Cadpat and my name being Brad just left no alternative I dont really care if it works, i just like the cut of ACU style combats, and its olive green so it will work ok in a wooded area. Darkchild <{POST_SNAPBACK}> dood that is really nice, Dylon in olive? I think I need to try this now. I am able to get ACU's easily so I think I am gonna try that little experiment. Maybe I will get three more sets and try TAN, BROWN, And OLIVE.
Noodle_2000
Wow, I like the look of that. Great job man, by the way are those real ACU's? Gary B.

Gary B. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no, they are fake ones bought from flecktarn.co.uk glad people are liking them. Darkchild
RSP1
But I can't really imagine anywhere in which that color pattern would work very well... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As opposed to the original ACUs?
Noodle_2000
Oh, ok. You think it will work with Real-ACU's? I got a pair from a recruiter. Gary B.
darkchild130
If they're made of cotton, it'll work. However If the ripstop thread is nylon it wont take the dye, so you'll end up with a cross hatched effect. I was lucky as the rip stop thread in my replicas appears to be cotton as well. amorphous
You should tye-dye the camo. I'd come out crazy.
Wege
I love that. It makes it nice.. really nice. I have seen someone dye some woodlands to with black, to make them more an urban style. But that is kewl too.

darkchild130
from warfighters.eu they come with writing above and below he skull but i cut those bits off. Darkchild
BoB SoiL
That is *really* nice, I may shamelessly yoink that idea and do it to some of my own
Cyber Soldier
That is seriously hot. It holds the Urban dynamic of the ACU pattern (can't remmember it's proper designation) but makes it workable for a woodland/temperate environment.
RPK
You should tye-dye the camo. I'd come out crazy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> QFT Tye-dye them olive, brown and maybe tan
Crispin1025
I think it came out pretty well. ACU's never looked better. Cheers, Daniel
Verymanynames
How does that Dye hold up to washing, does it fade?
Kingmob3
Second VMN's question, and those look great. I'm thinking those and CAD pat web gear possibly, or maby Multi Cam. Exelent job, may have to try that whenmy team decides to change its look, or when I graduate and wind up playing elsewhere. KM
darkchild130
i have washed them 5 times to test the dye. They still look exactly the same. thanks for the interest people! Darkchild
Grim
Darkchilf have you skirmished in these funky combats yet? If so, how do they blend to the woodland around you? I;m thinking of doing this my self. (you may have started a new trend darkchild lol) Grim
