The Chef
it can be a bit fiddly. the one thing you need to remember is that to get at the hop, the housing has a small allen key up inside the thread that bolts it to the stock. sorry about the click thing, completely forgot we were talking about a Kar98. good luck. xerxes
Feel free to drop a PM dude, I was thinking of knocking up a stripping guide with pictures sometime anyways.
L4byr1nth
MaruiAirsoft, here in the U.K. have the Kar98K at reasonable prices. They also say they can get the G-Version no problem. If you're interested, drop them a line at http://www.maruiairsoft.com/ Ben.
sirrith
small word of advice people: you can get the same power as the g-version but with better quality hopup (doesnt crack i believe) if you buy the original kar98k and buy the g-version conversion kit to go with it. it'll cost you less too. msg90sniper
hello, I just got a USED AICS... I loosened the grub screw but the adjuster thing wont turn....should I try to turn it with a screw driver or something???? Im afraid that ill break it
Moving_Shadow
Try taking the bolt apart, undo the two flat head screws in the middle of the bolt, and pull the two sections apart, to see if there is any damage, or something stopping it turning, then spray it with some WD40, and try it again. L4byr1nth
Hey guys, last Sunday, I had an annoying problem with my A.I.C.S... If the magazine is too full, the bolt won't close. I just got hold of a speedloader, and I only plunge it a few times, so is this just me overfilling, or a problem with the bolt track? Ben.
The Chef
its you over filling the mag. the last BB gets rammed into the magazine and jams in with the top of the mag track. The bolt then doesnt have enough force to pop it out into the barrel. try knocking the last bb out, or not ramming it full. You'll have more than enough rounds with 29... spare a thought for us old tanaka users... 10 round mags.
L4byr1nth
*Giggles* 10 rounds... That's a REAL sniper!! Thinking of buying Kar98K... What do you guys think? Ben.
The Chef
if you're after a nice looking period bit of kit that works well, then go for it. I got one and its great.
TDS
spare a thought for us old tanaka users... 10 round mags. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> once the mags get old they may "stick" the feed slider thing down if you put 10 in, and you are down to
RyanH
Just recieved a Tanaka M700 AICS from someone on these forums. Its standard (pre restriction) and came with 3 mags. One mag shoots fine, perfectly consistent. One mag leaks all the time, and the other leaks when its shaken. Is this a problem with the temperature or the mags? Anyone know how to fix it? They seem to be leaking from the nozzle on the top, rather than the filling valve. Any help will be appreciated. Ry.
The Chef
its probably due to a degraded O ring in the gas release valve part. in itself not a big problem, they are a bit fiddly to take apart, but once you know what you're doing its easy stuff. new o rings should be pence from a place like B&Q or a plumbers merchant. RyanH
Cheers for the quick reply. I'll take the mag apart and have a look later. Good to know it might not be something terminal, the mags are rather expensive! Thanks

RyanH
Another quick question. What gas can I safely run in the M700 AICS? I recieved it with some 134a and some abbey predator 134a. Can I run it with Abbey Ultra (red can) without damaging it? I've heard talk about propane nozzles etc? :S Cheers
The Chef
Tanaka's will run fine on propane or green gas.... fill her up and feel the power.
RyanH
Update on the leaky mags... One of them seems to have fixed itself some how! lol The other one is leaking quite badly from the back of the magazine (where the lever is pressed by the firing mechanism to release the gas). I've tried tightening the 4 screws holding the panel in place, but it seems like its not sealing. I guess it needs a new O-Ring.
airsoft 101
Does anyone know what a good type of ammo is to use with an M40A1. And what is a reliable retailer that sells them for cheaper than other people???

L4byr1nth
Anyone have a guide to sighting the A.I.C.S. in? Now that it's shooting at full power, I can hardly even see the BB to try and zero the scope, let alone spend time trying to get the HOP sorted. Any ideas? Thanks!! Ben. The Chef
Use white BB's.... rather than the grey graphite coated ones. works a treat.
L4byr1nth
Apart from that (I have white digicon straights now as well!!). Ben.
The Chef
well, set the hop first.... dont look through the scope. look down the side of the rifle and get the trajectory set properly, you'll be able to see it with whites (you wont with the others). once this is done, you can either bore sight it (by removing the bolt and looking down the barrel) and moving the scope to roughly the same place, or shoot it, and see where the shots land, and move the crosshairs to suit. Once the shots are falling on the scope picture, then fine tune to get them dead centre. thats about it.
L4byr1nth
Do you do that every time you want to skirmish it, or just when it needs it?
