SteevoLS
Looks like a pretty straight forward copy of the Crye Spartan mask.

Horsem4n
it says soft, so id imagine it means its flexible enough to get down far enough.
FireKnife
Like most people with hi-caps do, point, shoot and hope. Looks a bit, erm, pointless to me. We have lower face masks in airsoft so really i don't see much call for this. 'FireKnife'
Horsem4n
remember? airsoft is a fashion show for the most of us. i think is looks bad *albatross* as hell and will deffos pic up a set. would look good with my TF3 vest ;P
FireKnife
True, i forget sometimes about the actual shooting each and having fun aspect of it all But seriously, looks like the start of a Magneto helmet, before they bother to cast anything on it. 'FireKnife'
SOUTHPAWMIKE
These aren't exactly replicas of the Cry Chops. Crye Chops are a helmet accessory that bolts on to the Airframe helmet. This is more of a standalone mask, although there is a striking resemblance.
Wingmann
Make them metal so I can hear the bells when I hit them!
sigma3
Dammit. I was hoping for chops to, as Southpawmike says, attach to my Airframe.

harborne blue
Looks like a copy to me. The real steel may bolt onto the helmet but there's also an elastic strap, looking at this: http://soldiersystems.net/blog1/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Spartan.jpg
SOUTHPAWMIKE
As far as I'm concerned, these"]http://www.cryeprecision.com/P-HLMAC108000/Airframe%E2%84%A2-Chops are the Crye Chops. It's a similar shape, but it doesn't appear that any part of those sits over the brow of the helmet, like this replica.
Chevieblazer
I believe it's two different systems. The Crye chops clip onto the airframe, and those are not them. Those spartan chops look more like the EB thingys. Maybe a system designed for all helmets BUT the airframe?
Pkekyo-Nor
Correct, this is not a replica of the Crye Airframe Chops.

hitmanNo2
Is the product in question not the current design of the chops and the chops from that video are just an old design or are they making both?
blobface
Is the product in question not the current design of the chops and the chops from that video are just an old design or are they making both? My brain is frozen today, took me a good minute of staring blankly at the screen to understand your question...lol I think the product in the video is current, judging by Crye website and the fact that you can buy them. http://www.cryeprecision.com/P-HLMAC108000/Airframe%E2%84%A2-Chops The TMC one is something they've kind of made up based on what Crye's done from my understanding, it looks kind of like it, but when you pay a little more attention... they're quite far apart. hitmanNo2
Ha, yes. I could have worded that slightly better. Looking at that popular airsoft article again it seems like the TMC one is based on the Crye one for non Airframe use so they can be attached to standard ACH helmets as the US Army doesn't want to dump their ACHs yet. kilo_64
These are not the chops! They are the replicaof the Crye Precision Spartan face protector. They provide the same level of protection as the Air Frame and is designed to be flexible to achieve cheekweld. They are specifically designed to provide the troops with facial protection quickly and easily without modifying the ACH w/ NVG mount in any way. Here's more information: http://soldiersystems.net/2012/02/11/crye-precision-spartan/ And here's more pictures taken by SMGLee at this years Shot 2012: To address hitmanNo2's comment: The US Army and USMC are switching to a new ECH (Enhanced Combat Helmet) designed to stop a perpendicular shot from a 7.63x39. The shape of the helmet is the same as the ACH. But since it is using UD (unidirectional) materials such as Dyneema UD, Kevlar XP, or other polyethylene sheets, the material is not as flexible as the previous kevlar aramids therefore resulting in a smoother/less noticable buldge for the "ears". It is supposed to be fielded this fall (it took so long because the testing laboratories did not have any equipment that can properly test it for its v50 rating since nearly none of the fragmentations were even going through the helmet to gauge its v50 rating). In addition to these new helmets, the US Army sent out a request for maxillofacial protection with Mtek being one of the top competitors currently and CP at a close second. However, Mtek's products are already in protection with additional new models coming out soon while CP's are not yet in production.
The Icon
Does anyone feel like pairing this with a Cold Steel training gladius besides me? You could pretend it's a high frequency blade for futuristic fantasy....
FireKnife
That Cold Steel Gladius trainer would just go with anything, nothing says get out my building like a big black rubber funny shaped thing for hitting them with. Still these just look, well erm, no 'FireKnife'
