happy.al
Hello everyone, Justin has just shared with me the following video’s of his newest project, a AK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WO61r_3x0TA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1ZjBx7acpU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4pf2lFdpig At the moment prices are US$1,300 for a Aluminium bolt and US$1,500 for a full steel bolt. Both of these prices include shipping. The donor gun is a Dboys. Orders taken now will be ready for shipping in appox 2 months, please remember that these are hand made. I have asked if he can convert any other make of gun, also what other models (i.e. RPK:) ) I will let you now ASAP. Any further question please let me know and I’ll ask Justin, there is also a thread on ClassicAirsoft with some information on it. http://classicairsoft.org/forum/viewtopic....;p=67529#p67529 I’ll update this thread with information as I get it. Taragon
Oooo, i like the looks of that. Have wanted a GBB AK for a long time. Cant wait to see if he can do other donor guns. always wanted a GBB M60. Think that would be great. I may have to look at saying up and enquiring further about the AK. Very nice
Catman
Wow nice recoil on that. I can't tell reliably enough from the video but does it have full bolt travel, the video makes it look like it's not going all the way back. I dunno if it's just poor sound quality on the video but (IMO) it needs a sharper snap - a nice steel slap plate for the bolt to smack into and make a lot of noise A GBB AK needs to put the fear of God into people
Beast06
Seriously considering sending my RPK + AKSU to him and getting this stuck in it....
my_plague_666
sweet jesus! there is a god! a god who sets his prices a bit higher than i anticipated, but a god is a god nonetheless. i take it those prices include the donor gun too? is any reciever hacking involved? Wow nice recoil on that. I can't tell reliably enough from the video but does it have full bolt travel, the video makes it look like it's not going all the way back. its not, sadly it's impossible to do apparently as there isnt enough room without actually using the gas piston design, like a real AK. by the way, is this a 2 stage bolt (it can be pulled all the way back manually but only blows back as far as it can)? that'd be cool. and the kick looks VERY tasty. TDS
ITS AN AK! why the 50-100% higher prices for this compared to the M4 series?
my_plague_666
ITS AN AK! why the 50-100% higher prices for this compared to the M4 series? armashites could use an existing system. this system has been built specially. i'd assume thats the reason.
1st_shooter
The recoil looks amazing, you could bang nails in with that sh#t!
Inq Eisenhorn
It is a little stiff I must admit.....and considering you also need to sort out a rig for this unit also.....it might make it a bit too pricey for me While its great that Justin is doing this, seriously good stuff, but I'm going to wait and see how good (or bad) the Inokatsu rifles are before laying down anymore £££s. my_plague_666
i'm not sure about inok's gas in mag system. sounds pricy. and you're limited to an AKSU. notice al did say "at the moment", who knows maybe he might revise the prices a bit later on.
navy4251987
Also Notice Hes feeding the gas from a COMPRESSOR... You can not sustain that Blowback and recoil for long from a standard tank
Catman
Also Notice Hes feeding the gas from a COMPRESSOR... You can not sustain that Blowback and recoil for long from a standard tank It's for use with external HPA or CO2 tank - you'll get better performance out of them than a compressor which quickly looses pressure. I think you got your wires a bit crossed here, this is an AEG made into a GBB so it uses standard AEG mags.
TDS
Also Notice Hes feeding the gas from a COMPRESSOR... You can not sustain that Blowback and recoil for long from a standard tank Yeah, your limited to about 3-5k shots per c02 cannister IIRC, so no blazing through hicap after hicap. For a sane person, it is plenty.
Trasher
Also Notice Hes feeding the gas from a COMPRESSOR... You can not sustain that Blowback and recoil for long from a standard tankIf the rifle runs at a mere 60psi as stated in the video, a standard 20oz CO2 tank will last for a looong time... brooklyn
keeps fingers crossed for a blowback shotgun
Taragon
keeps fingers crossed for a blowback shotgun 2nd that...! I would love an M870 with a kick to it.... *Drool* But the recoil on that AK looks amazing, if the bolt can still be pulled back by hand for cocking purposes then that will do for me, even if the GBB system doesnt give the bolt full travel. But its a bit pricy... But as it has been said... 'A god is a god' Another tricky situation on what do do now with money i'm saving
Fin
Hmm, dboys it may fall apart after a bit I'd love to send him my VFC AKS but for the love of god its expensive to get it done
happy.al
Hello, OK a few answers from Justin, Justin confirmed that AEG mags work fine, we knew that they would be its always good to get confirmation. As said above, it’s firing at 60spi, at that pressure it’s firing at appox 0.9J (appox 310fps), it will go much higher. Justin says the power is about the same as a SP M16. It uses the same hopup rubber as a Escort mp5, Justin has loads of these so après are not a problem, when ordering it would be worth picking up a few spare. The price above includes the whole rifle, the doner gun, custom internals, shipping to the UK. The internals are all custom built, designed, machined etc. by Justin, he didn’t really have any where to start. I know it sounds like a lot of money, but I think it’s a decent price for what you are getting. I’ve got my name down for one so I can give it a full review when it’s here. my_plague_666
ah, no using AEG hop up rubber then? how does escort hop up perform?
happy.al
Escort Hopup rubbers are fine, they work more or less as well as AEG's Hopup. Once you have your air rig to give you a good constant PSI the hopup effect and range is on par with a AEG of similar fps.
Stuey
Wow this looks awesome, I love the really slow dak dak dak ROF! What's the large bar above the barrel (moves whilst firing) for? Stu.
Sturaiku
Wow this looks awesome, I love the really slow dak dak dak ROF! What's the large bar above the barrel (moves whilst firing) for? Stu. It's the gas piston used in real steel AKs.
Stuey
So wait he's used a real-steel AK component as part of his blowback system?

happy.al
Any ideas if it will be a different price shipped the US? I don't think there is any different in price with shipping to the US, as it's sent from HK
