  1. Yes, it's a G&P M653. The receiver is still a bit gunky from the glop that Ehobby Asia slathers on to cover the trades for shipping... Nice rifles, G&Ps.
  2. At this point, it's gotta be about having something new and different from what he currently has. There are only so many models of chestrig and so many different design configurations. It's probably safe to say that he's owned virtually every type of chest rig out there.
  3. Just a brief update on the Emerson AVS. I've added some pouches to the rig. Specifically, two Esstac KYWIs M4 magazine pouches, an Eagle SAW pouch and an Eagle RLCS MBITR pouch on the harness arms. On the front of the PC, I've swapped out the M4 Flap for a real Crye M4 Flat Flap that holds 3 magazines. On the rear platebag, I've added a Crye 11X6X4 GP Pouch from the Smart Pouch Suite to carry my HPA tank. My ILPS hydration bladder is installed inside the rear plate bag. Initially, I had the KYWI pouches installed on the Crye M4 shingle, but they seemed quite bulky to run out front. The KYWIs
  4. Many, many people on the Tippmann Airsoft Owners Group have been replacing the stock nut and mounting various rails. One of the guys on my team mounted his RS KAC RIS to the stock nut.
  5. Yeah, obviously it's not a perfect reproduction. That said, and for the price, it's a solid rig. The quick-release mod I blatantly stole from the Military Morons review of the real deal.
  6. What's the scientific basis for your conclusions? "Accuracy" is highly subjective especially amongst airsoft players. What explanation do you offer to support your conclusions? Why do Polarstars, as you suggest, exhibit inherently poor accuracy?
  7. A Review of the Emerson Adaptive Vest System By Gimpalong 8 December 2014 Introduction One of the newer and more innovative plate carrier designs of recent years is the Crye Adaptive Vest System (AVS). Introduced at SHOT Show 2013 , the AVS was designed to fill a niche between the extremely light weight Jumpable Plate Carrier (JPC) and the larger, more load-carrying friendly CAGE Plate Carrier (CPC). Intended to be a scalable platform, the AVS has a wide variety of available components and accessory panels that can be added or subtracted depending on mission necessities or profiles
  8. That's actually not a Polarstar (P*), but rather a Wolverine SMP.
  9. Isn't the real Crye JPC a mixture of 300D, 500D and Hypalon in some locations?
  10. Smart Parts made a paintball XM8 years ago. They called it the SP8. I seem to recall that there was a series of posts (or videos?) of someone who took the higher quality SP8 parts and fitted them around an airsoft gun. EDIT: Linky link
  11. That photo makes me seriously question why I sold my LCT AKM. Alas, airsoft is pain. Airsoft is joy. Shibe.
  12. Glad to see more information on "joule creep" getting out there. I've been running a Polarstar since early 2012 and information on how to properly chrono them to maintain a safe energy level on the field has only been slowly diffusing to the major fields and event hosts in my area (Midwest USA). One of the major issues I've encountered is Polarstar users pushing the "use as heavy a BB as you can" advice without also mentioning the need to remain under a given playing site's maximum energy limit. For most places in my area that maximum energy limit is 1.5 joules or 400 fps with .20s. The r

  15. Brothers in Arms: +1 to Validtumoralarm for the Rec7.
  16. That has to be one of the most rare rifles I've seen in recent years, plus the fusion engine makes it a work of art.
  17. Can you tell what the loading nozzle is made of? I know the old tri-shot nozzles were plastic, quite fragile and prone to breaking if the shotgun was accidentally double pumped.
  18. I've always had good experiences with in them in the past. Two orders for G&P rifles arrived quickly, had their trades covered as requested and were not molested by customs. This was several years ago, so things may have changed.
  19. Tada! http://www.bingoairsoftworks.com/magpul-pdr-c-polarstar-fusion-engine-conversion/
  20. How do you like the ASPIS? Seems like one of the more under-rated PCs out there.
