  1. I'm pretty sure that's space black actually. You can clearly tell it's not despair black and it's much too deep a black to be SAS-eyes black. Defence-contractor-soul black is also a far more rich and lustrous hue.

Glitter on most stuff. I have specs of it in my car's boot. Industrial vacuum cleaner? Nope. Have to pretty much dig it out with something sharp.

Doesn't look that great TBH. Still using an adapted version of the Gamebryo engine, small, flashy settlements. I get the feeling they're simply adding new content rather than improving anything specifically.

Very early on, though, so I could be proven wrong!

  4. Sun had gone in by this point, but earlier on in the day I really, really *fruitcage* wanted to jump in that horrible former-quarry water.
  5. If it's not a 'closed system' as it were and there's just one free end of webbing that's not stitched in and can be unraveled then you can chop it as short as you like. All the slings I've made myself over the years to be 1-to-2 point convertable have involved chopping up MS3s/4s and BFG Vickers slings to get the right length.
  6. I feel that single pink XTM doesn't serve any purpose at all but just "has" to be on there. Because. ETA - From the owners' standpoint ofc.
  7. Back from the 'Airsoft Showcase' at the mall. Small but genuinely very good little show. Good few people attending and retailers to talk to and discuss things and loads of guns to try out. Closest thing to an actual airsoft only shopping centre you could ever get.

  8. If you go to 'Ignore' Preferences within My Settings there's a check box that can disable sigs, might be that. Here's what I fabricated a couple of years back based on something that someone else here pointed out Travis Haley used in his Pantaeo DVDs. At the time I'd been using a PTS MS2 for a while and by the end of a skirmish day it'd really start to bite in to my neck so that originally drove me to look for something better. http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/202062-new-from-remf-tactical-the-adaptable-solutions-sling/ I've updated the design since and used othe
  9. The exact issue I came up against years ago that prompted me to start making my own slings (and to write the article linked in my sig). Usually HK Snaps have a circular hole in them which another snap fits right in to. In the pictures here they're covered by the elastic keepers but if one of those was pulled back you could make a 1 point.
  10. For UK manufacture with US materials that's a great price; good buy. It's taken a while for padded slings to start proliferating but I'm glad to see it's finally catching on a bit more. There are some more advanced designs out there, but companies this side of the pond to tend to lag a little behind overall; hardly the end of the world though, I'm nit-picking. Is it easy to quickly adjust from a patrolling to fighting position?
  11. I didn't wanna say hipster because that to me has a negative connotation and I think the picture is pretty awesome overall. The pure photographic skill on display is evident.

  13. I feel like this is the result you'd get from giving a RIF to a very successful artsy type person who works in media in NYC. The pose, expression and background are a total juxtaposition to the rifle.
  14. Soon as I saw that on imgur the other day I thought "yep, this will catch on", haha. Grey Ghost PC (presumably?) works much better than the old school armour carrier from the original.
  15. I'd not heard of them referred to as that, but yeah the pontoons are definitely a good option. Personally, I won't buy a PC that's not spacer mesh inside and I aim for the foam pontoon/mesh combo setup that FirstSpear integrates as I like to keep using my PCs even during the height of the summer. But overall yeah, the STT is incredibly good value for money.
  16. http://www.riograndecustomgrips.com/fullsize1911grips.html Not terribly cheap for plastic but they're a good, dense plastic at least. Snug fit and a nice, matte finish that's just slightly textured. There used to be *suitcase* loads on ebay with lots of snakes/skulls/flaming dice/tatoo'd women etc that looked cool but were shiny smooth plastic, i.e. great for airsoft. There's still a fair few grip sets up there, but not nearly as many as before and certainly far less variety.
  17. SKD Tac/PIG/FirstSpear carrier. Not mine but I brought it in for a buddy and I don't think he has an account here. Pretty nice rig.
  18. Personally as things stand I don't see post count as a measure of contribution at all. There are member with more posts than me who've contributed *fruitcage* all in terms of quality content to this forum. Then there are people who might've put epic amounts of time, effort and money in to creating fantastic RIFs and loadouts, taken brilliant pictures and posted them in the pictures section and gotten nothing extra on their post count for it. IMHO, the system is quite broken right now.
  19. Given the overall drop in traffic here, I'm still in favour of at least lowering the cap. Personally, if I'm selling an item I take the responsibility for that transaction. I check out anyone who messages me with enquiries to purchase and if they have zero feedback elsewhere or other history that denotes they're probably not a scumbag I say 'no thanks'. To imply it's somehow the fault of the forum for your transaction going badly is ridiculous and nonsensical at best; it's the scammer's fault. Simple as.
  20. Anyone have a URX II tool they wouldn't mind lending me briefly? This VFC build is causing me respiratory and cardiovascular problems.

      hitmanNo2

Actually, I just checked an it has an exterior diameter of 36mm which is near enough perfect with a bit of sanding. I can only see 32mm or 40mm on the Wickes site so maybe that is 32mm internal diameter as the walls are 2mm thick. Best thing to do is take the nut to the shop and see how it fits the end of the pipe.

Thinking about it I should double check something. The nut that holds the barrel is out, but there is (what looks like) another nut holding the rail on; doesn't look built in since it's black and the rail is tan. Should I just be trying to screw the entire handguard off?

    3. hitmanNo2

      hitmanNo2

Yeah, there will be two separate nuts. The rail is threaded onto the barrel nut and then the small nut is tightened down onto the barrel nut.

  21. Love the idea, just make the point blunt.  That'd be an awfully effective stabbing device with a persons' weight behind it while they're falling over.   But yeah, if it can clip in to the standard mount that comes on an Ops-Core I think I'd have one.
  22. Well, if the price is in Taiwanese Dollars (which is my totally uneducated guess) then that's around £90 or ~$140 before shipping etc. Which is basically the same as their other models. If I've got the currency wrong then obviously ignore my insane ramblings.
