None of the guns are even that impressive. I see a rare SPAS12 and some traded VFC SCAR-H's (yes, those are rarer in the states), but past that, nothing worth even looking at.

######, never mind they're STAR SCAR's. Automatic crapbin.

Renegadecow's made the point more explicit - I can understand collecting guns and not shooting them, but why would you buy lots of the same gun, particularly as (as aznriptide says) NONE of them are particularly brilliant weapons? 95%+ of that sales list is middle-of-the-road easily available stuff or 'retailer customs' (i.e. an assemblage of parts the retailer already sells). The weapon racking is probably worth more than the guns.

Which deluded twunt writes these articles? "oh not there's so much security and stuff, it's 'the man' taking over", so they'd just rather any extremeist moron can waltz in to the 100m finals unchecked? I swear some of these people live in a tiny plastic cbe with nothing inside but their flavour-of-the-month gadget and an internet connection.

There was 1 good line in that. I like the idea of the Marine Commando's blasting someoen caught cheating at the 100m breaststroke, made me chuckle. But really, the person who wrote that is retarded. I can imagine the headlines now, Uk announces games will have no security to appease internet trolls, al quaeda announces it's unsporting to attack games with no security and international athletes are safe.

  2. http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=42065 Just what is this? Are they just tossing left over parts into a blender now for giggles.

Meh. The only thing I'd complain about is how much they're asking for it.

  3. http://www.evike.com/products/68297/ "Built around the traditionally durable version 2 gearbox, the XR-5s relation to the M4 ends there." "The fire controls are similar to the favored M4 rifle." At least try to use something other than a m4 next time please.

What's so bad about magazine and internal parts compatibility with by far the most common platform out there? It looks basically nothing like an AR on the outside.

  6. For anyone who can decipher this horrible shop's website listings, is this a rebranded cyma 40b vfc style ak105, or one of the tm models and they just cannot put correct picture up?  For some odd reason they have this cheaper than the cyma 40b reband by itself, which has me immediately suspicious.  If it is the vfc style, it kinda beats out the non rebrand offers elsewhere and I might be tempted to jump on it.  http://www.airsoftmegastore.com/21465-cyma-airsoft-ak-105-aeg-full-metal-side-folding-stock-black.aspx

Oddly enough, this place has 100 series front ends for sale, but for some reason they decide their "free" shipping does not apply to them.

I am inclined to believe the former on the basis that the item code for the rifle in their shopping cart menu is LT-740D which corresponds with lancer's rebrand of the cm40 models iirc.

NVM, their site will not even let me go to checkout because something is out of stock despite showing everything in stock.

  7. Ordered a G&G Green bucking alongside ammo from airsoftatlanta, figured I'd give them some business again.  They somehow managed to send only the bucking and not the nub or retaining ring with it.  Installed it anyways since sending it back just not worth it but that just soured my day and my plans to do more business with them in the future.

  8. Quick question to those of you with ye old cyma bizons, what length air nozzle do you end up using with one?  I have a shs long one atm for it, but I figure maybe the shorter one might be better, as for some reason it was not feeding well/compression was off at my last local game.  I'm awaiting new gears before I finish trying to rebuild it.

Also odd tip for those of you who buy shs nylon piston heads and find the orings not doing well for compression tests: since #14 ones from the hardware store seem to not alter much due to how deep the channel is, I just tried wrapping a bit of teflon tape around the channel a bit and put the original oring on and seems to be duing the trick.  Probably actually making it worse due to being too much but I'll probably end up taking it apart again in the future.

  9. So, I recently lost a bunch of ak mag plate bottoms on some new cyma magazines (dumbass me didn't glue/tape them) and I am wondering if anyone has ever tried real deal 74 magazine plate bottoms on them before?  I figure the dimensions are probably too different.  Also have some missing off some MAG brand plums.  Surprised that there is not 3d printed solution out there afaik.

  10. Watching a game movie of Metro Exodus, and I am thinking why in the world hasn't an airshit company at least tried to make the cutout mags on a commercial scale.  Seen some attempts like this one:

but I'd like a 10 pack of midcaps and an excuse to bring the old 74m out of storage.

  11. Is it time to start building our stiff upper lip kits?

Can't say I haven't thought of it though if I did I'd probably try it with a VZ61 drum just to keep things to scale.

  15. Anyone got an idea what sort of magazine floor/base plates would work for the old MAG ak74 midcaps?  Realize that I have a few without baseplates whiles I was trudging through the collection today.

Furthermore, does anyone know of places in the US that might have the cyma or lct midcaps in plum?  It seems that except for the lct ones being sold with particular models they are only found in a select few overseas shops and the cymas I have not seen anywhere in stock.

  16. Anyone know what his happening with the Red Alliance forums?  Haven't been able to get on there for some time, seems the site is down.

I saw an update from one of the mods that they were addressing it, but at the moment it just pops up a box asking for username/password with "suspended/restricted" in the tab window.  I naturally decline to try my info.

  17. Anyone with a LCT RPK/74 got any imput on barrel length?  I hear about the barrel being too long and folks going for shorter ones or getting "bore up" kits, yet others that say its fine just get another hop up.

Are you running a suppressor replica on it or something?  The longest I heard for mine was 610mm stock barrel...

any updates?  I managed to get my model's stock barrel out and it is indeed 610mm.

  18. Apparently I missed this month's local game because it was only posted on private page on fb.  Kinda a punch in the gut feeling now.

No, I just did not have a way to access said page at the time.  Rectified that for this month, though I don't like having a fb account.

  19. Bit of a longshot, but does anyone have any info about this custom AK-9 model done years ago?  th_ak9_03.jpg  The group that did it either has no facebook page that is public (not requiring a log in) or is just gone completely.  I theorize they either took a 100 series receiver or possible one of those 74u ones that came with a full folding stock and fabricated the pistol grip, mag, and possibly front sight/barrel threads.  The lower hand guard must be the lct one produced as "AK-9 style).  Not going to lie, I kinda like it more than the VSS/VAL style of 9x39.

short of the pages on Public Enemy (http://www.publicenemy.com.hk/?p=5806&lang=en) I can't find out much more. PE seemd to be stringly linked to them and posted all their kit for sale as far as I can see.

    2. Gunmane

      Gunmane

Thank you for your effort Arnie.  I tried searching through that site's youtube page hoping that maybe they showed it off at one point but no dice.  A few folks over on Red Alliance supposedly made their own years ago as well, but all the pictures are gone for the most part.

Just one of those things you get curious about and wonder why companies like LCT (who had a prototype one) ignored it.

Of course, I'd quickly ignore it if a SG542 got made somehow, but that is an even more far fetched dream.

  20. Does anyone know of a shop that sells 9.6v nimh sticks that have deans already attached?  I'm keen on picking up one or two full wiring harness sets with deans to replace some of my old kalashes wiring and I'd like to just get some nimhs with deans already so I don't have to fuss (I know I'm too daft to solder anything myself/too old fashioned to dip into lipos as well).

zeroone do custom batteries - always have had a decent service with them.

  21. Does anyone who owns a cyma/s&t pattern bizon and has a hicap for it know who to open the front lid to fill it instead of the latch?  I've heard about it being a better method but have yet to figure out how to do it to the hicap that just arrived today (midcaps never worked out for me despite having multiple and I kinda wanna try the hicap after seeing some recent Japanese players use one).
