Jagdraben
Heavy: Greater consistency, more rounds in less time before damaging the barrel. Light: Lighter, handier. If you're going KISS, go light. If you're going into the Hindu Kush, you might want the heavy. If neither, fondle them and decide which one you like the 'swing' of.
Perch
Also prepare for worst case scenario. Go heavy, train a little more with the heavy barrel and you won't notice the extra weight any longer. Despite that I wouln't buy such an ugly weapon. Go for a new SIG 556 with the Swiss style Stock. If your Californian citizen though get one with the fixed AR-stock setup.
Victory
Funny you mention the Sig series. I was never a huge fan of the Sig's looks. As for the barrels, I'll probably go with the Heavy. Probably have it DuraCoated (or some other type of treatment) FDE, as well as having LaRue UDE Furniture. Optics...I'm leaning towards an Aimpoint Micro w/LT Mount. Might sell the MI sights, and have a MBUS set in their place. (Titleist, for some reason, I feel the need to blame you for me wanting to do this. ) As for the Aimpoint magnifier...is it compatible with the Micros? If so, I'd imagine that LaRue's pivot mount would line-up with the Micro w/LT Mount...? Also, would it be possible to modify Magpul 20 Round P-Mags into 10/20 magazines? -Vic
Wayneard3413
I would steer clear of the XCR, few people I have heard that actually owned them said they should have just got a nice AR Yes the 3X will work with the T1/H1... As for the Pmags, I have seen a company that produces 10/30 versions... I would say it is possible
Jagdraben
Sent an email to Steve at MARS Armament and I was told that it would take only a couple of weeks to get my LWRC Cerakoted. So, once it's here, I might turn around and send it out to him.

As for the XCR, was there any particular reason they said this? RobArm did have some problems with the XCR that have been corrected, sans the trigger, which they're working on now. -Vic
Wayneard3413
Mostly reliability issues as I recall
Victory
Any idea how many round they put through their XCR(s)? And about how recent was this? Thanks Wayne! -Vic
Wayneard3413
This was a few weeks ago, no clue on how many rounds put through them Are you planning on swapping out to other calibers?
Jagdraben
Is it bad that I'm considering selling my Schofields to fund this new-found addiction to high-end black riflery?
Victory
This was a few weeks ago, no clue on how many rounds put through them Are you planning on swapping out to other calibers? Yes. The 7.62mm. I might go for the 6.8 and/or the 6.5 as well, but I'll go for the 7.62mm at the very least. -Vic

Which will you use more? Vic, Really for the price difference you could pick up a nice AR and have enough left over for an AKM... Just a thought
Jagdraben
Two dumb questions: What's the degreaser Costa uses in the DVD? And did I see Wolf being loaded up by Costa and Haley?
Wayneard3413
And did I see Wolf being loaded up by Costa and Haley? To be honest that is probably what you will see me loading up as well haha Honestly with prices the way they are it is worth just to keep an eye on my extractor and swap it out every once and awhile
Titleist
Well that rules out you using any of my guns as backups! I'm not letting that Wolf *suitcase* near my guns.
Wayneard3413
After talking to several people who send more rounds downrange in a year than most people have in their entire lives I think I will be ok... As with lots of other topics their seems to be a lot of *suitcase* talking abound online without much real reasoning behind it I have fired a couple thousand rounds of it through my gun and never once had an issue... There are however several people who have reported kabooms shooting S&B
master_titled
Same here. Wolf is cheap. Cheap ammo is cheap.
Victory
I'm pretty much set on getting the XCR. The features and the price...it's hard to beat, in my humble opinion. Anyway, my plans: -Vic
Sniperman15
I'll still add my vote for a nice AR. Even though I have my Sig, I found myself buying an AR as well just because of the customization options. While it seems you can do a lot of that to the XCR, I have to say, looks wise, the AR wins. Wayneard3413
Little bit dirtier, other than that it is still loaded to SAAMI specs Either your weapon functions or it doesnt... If it has to be fed brand X to feed then it simply doesnt function
Titleist
Non-brass case wreak all sorts of havoc on extractors, I didn't know that was an irrational fear.
Wayneard3413
The way I see it, an extractor is an item that is getting replaced every few thousand rounds anyway I can buy a $10 extractor with every 1000 round case and still come out saving over a hundred bucks
