Apex
You people really live far away from your work place .... 40 mins commute ? dang ... 5mile for me, 10/15 mins in the early morning and anything upto 45mins during rush hr...... One job i use to have, involved bus then train then tram, that was 3hrs of my life that i lost each day just getting to work and back
amateurstuntman
Just move house when you get a new job. You can get a flat in Peckham with all bills for 600 quid a month. If you don't want to live there then that is your problem. Your other option is 90 minutes in a tube full of farts. Your choice. I moved house to be near my job. I now live 1km from work. I suppose I have never had the problem with inertia that other people seem to have.

It's Peckham!
Cannonfodder80
2.7 miles for me. The only downside is I don't drive and work is miles from the nearest bus route so I'm stuck with a pushbike
carpediem4300
It's what? 40 min on the train? For a tenner? Wish my train commute was that! I've got the joys of London Midland getting me into Euston, standing room only both ways, and then another 40 minutes on a crowded tube both ways. £35 for the train and then there's the Oyster use of about £40 a month on top for the tube, oh and £8 for parking my car at the station. I'm up at 6am and not home until after 7:30pm, assuming someone hasn't decided to commit suicide by fire on a train earlier in the day (what a horrible way to go) Take a book, or download some films/TV shows to your phone, that's what makes it bearable for me. Lol i know people have it worse than me, But when I had the interview I presumed i was working at my companies office at Fort Dunlop and the payrise would effectively fund my car travel to and from each day, so signed the contract and agreed redundancy terms with my last employer Then on my first day of work with new company, after being made redundant, they inform me im to be based in an office 10 min walk from new street station, that has no parking So where i envisaged hammering the motorway each day (i enjoy driving anyway) and working a normal 9-5, has been changed to getting up at 6 for a 6.50 train, to start work at 8am, finish at 4.30 and still not get home til 6......... im less than impressed and now looking for a new job, PS> this week im travelling to and from Glasgow everyday because they couldnt get me in a suitable hotel up there so spent the extra cash on more tickets :S
carpediem4300
Rant: receiving the 3rd abusive message from combat gear uk who still insist that sending original blasters in place of the devil blasters i ordered is acceptable and that im a "£$&%%****)*$)%*%*" who doesnt know the difference, Well here is what i know, a company that advertises one product and sends another is shoody, cheap, under handed and to be steered clear of. Paypal dispute open, evidence saved, I'll be taking my money back thank you, and also warning all other airsofters of this scam have a nice day combat gear uk
Hedganian
Feel free to report them to Trading Standards as well. Also, with regard to your job, it never occurred to you to ask them where you'd be working before taking the job?
amateurstuntman
I am married but my salary pays the bills so if I have to move, we move. Xaccers, I wasn't saying you should move to Peckham, you have a multi-centre job. You have to drive. What I am saying is that it grips my *suitcase* when people moan about their commute but won't move to a cheap area in town in which they work. Nothing wrong with Peckham, if I lost my mind and decided to work in the Devil's maw (London) I wouldn't have a problem living there, get a lockup nice and cheap and I'm set. Hedganian
Why the hell does my browser keep warning me of Malware on this thread??? And, number one rant - Why, oh WHY does the twat across the road keep parking his car in the tiny narrow street where it makes it hard for me to get in or out of my driveway, instead of parking on HIS OWN GODDAMM DRIVEWAY!!! Skarclaw
The website hosting one of the images in Apex's signature has been infected, apparently.
Hedganian
How annoying. Should someone tell him? Speaking of sig images, yours is broken, dude.
FireKnife
Yes. AND they have FireKnife... North East Scotland. Speaking of sig images, yours is broken, dude. Maybe it is to cut back to the old 400x100 limit and not necessarily broken, mine did the same when i got a 'Sig limit is 400x100 message'. Should someone tell him? He probably knows just that most hosting sites get hacked so easily and so often as it is very easy to do if you know the basics. 'FireKnife'

Arghoslent93
Idiot customers in my bar who decide that it's perfectly acceptable in today's society to smash an empty pint glass into a female coworkers face, after she simply asked him to move his chair in a bit so she could collect some glasses from a table behind him. He then sits back down and carries on with his pint as if nothing had happened. I didn't see it, because I started my shift an hour after it took place, but I'd have found it hard to stop myself from lamping him. What a *Ubar*.

A friend of mine had a chair broken across her back while working in a weatherspoons. I think the other bar staff "dealt" with the offender.
scorch
When I worked in the local casino a customer punched his girlfriend in the face then put the boot in when she was on the floor. The bouncers detained him while the police were called, but would you believe it, the poor guy "fell down the stairs" before they arrived.
