Lone_Bullet
Fun stuff at work. I'm upgrading certain circuits or level-crossings. Been doing good work for the day, but sometimes you get these 'oooof' moments. These moments involve ' shiz, I broke this item because it's plastic from the 60's and just crumbles under your finger. Too bad it's a high priority circuit and it'll stop every train for miles. ' My boss obviously doesn't like these moments, so by experience and skill you try and keep them at a minimum, right? Casually checking our new tablet on which you can observe every railroad track in Belgium. It's for comforts really. You getto know when the next train is due and how heavy the traffic is. Boom, the 2 tracks crossing my level-crossing are in lock down. Every signalling post red, some emergency plan was activated. For miles. MILES! Fek it! I'm already feeling a panic attack coming up. I'm alone here with 2 unexperienced contractors which I can't leave alone. I'm rushing to th emain control pannel and... Everything is fine? Did the line break? Is Traffic Control not getting a signal from us? I can't get a line on them nor are they answering the landline. Things are propperly f... gone belly up. I'm diving trough scematics back and forth, checking what I can. Imagining kilometers of trains and cars halted. Angry commuters ( however... commuters are always angry ). All is good? I'm confused. Can't think anymore, too stressed out. Finally, the landline to TC is back to normal, I get the Operator on the line and... They has a local gasleak. Nothing to do with me... I finished work right then and there. Get me home, give me something strong. I don't think I'm fit to lead a team of external contractors.

scorch
Rialto estate. It was in good condition for a used car, and amazing condition given its age.
shmook
Are they not all estates? Don't recall seeing one as a cabriolet or saloon 😝
scorch
Estate, hatch or saloon. The saloon back end is daft looking. Have seen a van and a couple of pickups too. Not sure if they were factory or custom.
Spudgun
I had a Rialto saloon. I hated the silly 'letterbox' sized hatch for the boot. It was a right faff; Opening the hatch, then going inside to drop the rear seats so I could get my Dragunov in. At least with the Estates, I could do it all from the back. I ran Reliants for 15 years!

Mike_West
*fruitcage*. Turns out that Sony Xperia XA1 is a terrible phone with a terrible OS that throws seven colors of monkey *suitcase* after you install some common apps, and that not including Google's spectacular *fruitcage*-up with last week's Play Services update that's been messing with battery life on various phones left right and center. Basically, Android 8 cannot run on it for longer than 12 hours, and that's on Standby mode. I mean, seriously, it was lying on my desk overnight and somehow wasted a good half of the battery doing *fruitcage*-all. That while my three-year-old Xperia M4 Aqua can run for two days and a bit. *suitcase*, I could run with Pokemon Go on that thing for hours before needing to reach for the powerbank, and that game is a torture test, with GPS pinging away, data transfers, 3D models, kitchen sink, two whores and a handcar. Hedganian
No idea what you're on about - my wife has had the XA Ultra for over a year and it lasts several days on a single charge. I've got the XA2 Ultra and can do about a day and a half (I use mine more than the wife does hers).

Mike_West
Here you go, as I documented it. 18:15, I go to sleep, setting alarm to 20:00. At 20:00 the alarm goes off, I shut it down, put the phone back on the desk, don the jammies and sleep soundly until 6AM. At 6AM I wake up, check the battery, connect the charger as the battery's *fruitcage*ed and take a screenshot because this kind of is simply ridi*fruitcage*ulous and un*fruitcage*inbelievable. How the *fruitcage* does it use next to no power between 18:00 and 20:00, then goes ape *suitcase* on the battery overnight? Weirder still was the prediction the battery settings displayed after a factory reset and logging in to a clean phone. It was supposed to stay five days and a half on standby. Hedganian
What apps were running? That straight line makes it look like a very steady drain - like having the camera or torch on or something like that.

That straight line makes it look like a very steady drain - like having the camera or torch on or something like that. The usual tat, Facebook, Messenger, Hangouts, all in background, close to a stable Wifi access point. No camera, no torch, the bloody phone was laying on my desk with the screen off! Hell, monkeying with the phone later gave me the estimated battery life when at 80%-90% between 12 and 16 hours, when my M4 claims that it can go for two-three days (to wit, it's at 49% now and claims it can keep going for almost two more days of average use!). Hedganian
Chrono'd my AUG today, disappointed with the results. With the new A3XS barrel, the highest FPS was 280.6, lowest 248.0, average of ten shots 265.26. Using 0.20g BBs. It was a little better with the H-Bar barrel: max 304.0, min 266.8, average 281.96. I know the H-Bar has a 650mm tightbore barrel, I think it's 6.03mm. Not sure what the A3XS has - it's 260mm long according to Google - so I'd expect a drop of about 20 or 30 FPS just from the barrel length difference. The difference I measured today is 16.7, so that's within reason. The most annoying thing, though, isn't the actual FPS but the range. On both barrels it varies by almost 40 FPS - that's not good at all. It ought to be MUCH more consistent than that... Might have to send the whole thing to Doc to get the gearbox overhauled - it was about 340 on the H-Bar when he did it last time, but that was some years ago now...
amateurstuntman
Consistency is key. The barrel change thing tends to cause a lack of repeatability. Cool though.
Gunmane
I've read that longer barrels tend to fluctuate a lot more. My LCT RPK seems to fluctuate to field legal 390 fps to 420+ which is not. I tried this weekend to get to the gearbox to find out to my dismay that when it was made years ago the screw furthest set into the rear sight block was stripped during manufacture. Can't get it out, don't want to risk finding more screws to be stripped trying to get the rsb off so I could try to drill it out. I doubt the old adage of breaking the spring in will bring it down enough to field limits, so now it just a "test fire on game day" piece. Bloody idiotic design. Seeing as how the local field is more suited to rifles and smg, the Bizon and one of the kalashes are getting some tightbores to see if any improvement occurs. Just ticks me off that my rpk in semi is considered more dangerous than some kiddo with 700 dollar hpa rig at 63 rps with .3 in it. As for nonairsoft rants: bloody hot and mosquitoes have come back finally...
scorch
Sent a message regarding another Reliant I found for sale. Guy read it, and no reply. Am I destined to not get one of these or what?
Spudgun
Over a period of 15 years. I had 4 Reliant 3-wheelers. The first one fell apart faster than I could fix it. The second one, the gearbox went. The third one I sold as it was a saloon and I didn't like the 'letterbox' boot. The fourth one, the head gasket went. 15 years of amazing fun. Hedganian
Doc suggested lubricating the AUG gearbox as it may have dried up over the years of little to no use. He sent me a kit to do it in situ, which consists of a syringe and a long thin tube. I'll give it a try when I get chance, see if it makes any difference. In other news, Wifey is back in hospital again.

DarkLite
Sorry to hear about your wife's health troubles, Hedge, that's a rough deal. In other news, got back home on Sunday to find that I'd been handed a 72 hour ban on Facebook for a 2 month old post of a picture of my MP5A1 with a caption that made it 100% clear it was a replica. Which wouldn't be a problem except I have about 12 messages on my business page which I can't reply to. FANTASTIC
Hedganian
That's ridiculous - posting pictures of guns or replicas is not against Facebook's rules.Their enforcement actions are completely haphazard and insane - things that aren't against the rules get penalised while things that clearly are continue to be ignored.
