chillindrdude
some guy on ebay was selling what appears an entire lot of PVS7/14 rhino NVG mount kits for like 35 bucks "buy it now" thats where i snagged mine. keep in mind that most of the NVG mounts on ebay have the mount arms for a PASGT, but you can simply bend them to fit the MICH. T@uRuS
A bit off topic, but does the NVG Mount fit any type of Protec helmets? I really want one for mine
Maveric
both types will fit most types of protec they are all pritty much the same. . the PASGT version needs modifying (only slightly), your best bet it to get the one with the MICH adapter. that'd mount on there no problem Edited June 4, 2006 by Maveric

Or am I *beep* out of luck?
chillindrdude
Mine comes with an adapter plate for the PASGT helmet, will the RHINO mount arm fit into the mount plate of the MICH? Or am I *beep* out of luck? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> it should fit. the mount plate doesn't change if its MilSpec. only the mount arms are helmet specific. altho as stated above you can easily bend the PASGT mount arms to fit the MICH. the mount arms are bolted to the mount plate. i hope i answered your question

The little 'arm' bits just needed a tiny bit of bending (ooh err) and they fit right on.

Jagdraben
<img snip> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My God, man, is that your hair coming out the top of the helmet? Or were you trying to go for an abbreviated Roman Centurion look?

Or were you trying to go for an abbreviated Roman Centurion look? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think it's a blurry bit of the curtain behind But yes, I had the same thoughts. I hope it's not my hair - I shall check my helmet and hood for a big hole!

Hustie
Spec Ops helmet Edit-I just took the time to actually look at the helmets in this thread. I swear by God, they have so much junk on them they must have lost all camoflaging ability . Maybe I should start a boonie hat thread.... chillindrdude
i'd say the primary tasks of a helmet (we're talking milspec here) are: protection protection protection did i say protection? if you want camouflage please see the sniper/ghillies thread
Hustie
Err, I thought it was to replicate soldiers? Becuase BB's to the head don't hurt all that much. Anyway, forget I said anything as I don't want to start any arguments in geardo territory.
Milla
How do you guys secure your velcro to your helmet?
SilentScope
They make velcro with an adhesive backing. Edited June 5, 2006 by SilentScope
systema
Or as Havoc suggested, is the adhesive doesn't stick well to the rough surface, apparently hot glue does the trick. Edited June 5, 2006 by systema
Tommygunn
Good old stinky contact adhesive like evostick.
Milla
I used double sided tape
Tommygunn
Or you can just use self adhesive Velcro. p.s. For all you Velcro needs(dunno about international): www.antrimm.co.uk Edited June 5, 2006 by Tommygunn
Milla
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEBI%3AIT&rd=1 That is the correct mount for a MICH right? Edited June 5, 2006 by Milla
Titleist
Yes sir, I got my MICH from OLKA on Friday, but got the NV mount today, it fits in tight, had to slap it into place but it's *fruitcage* cool.
Maveric
milla, that kit seems to be missing the most vital of parts, the helmet mount itself. doesn't actually seem to be included.

doc_newstead
Not fair all these US helmets in here If anyone had a UK Para lid in here, that'd be pretty 'special' too. Better be for £
