Aidan
Any BSG fans out there? I apoligize to my Brown coated brethren, but BSG is just soo much better than any other show of the sort (including the original 1980's show). I count the hours 'till the new season starts. sekiryu
Best American miniseries then.
Aidan
It's pretty much the only sci-fi show that really (really!) plays with your emotions. I usually come out after watching it with my head swimming, something NO other sci-fi series does to me.
Sledge
So, you're comparing this to... Enterprise? Â
Aidan
As good shows as all Star Treks were (they will always remain classics), this series is simply the hardest hitting sci-fi show on television.
Sledge
I'm just trying to get an idea of your sci-fi experience. If you think this is the best thing going, I can only assume you're not familiar with good sci-fi, hence my suggestion that you're comparing it to Enterprise. Â
WeirdoTransvestite
It's no The Wrath of Khan. Â IMO, the best Star Trek movie.
sekiryu
I watched half an episode of Star Trek....and couldn't stand it. Â Most sci-fi shows are cheesy, and Galactica is far from cheesy, which makes it great.
Jagdraben
It's no The Wrath of Khan. IMO, the best Star Trek movie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>  I prefer First Contact, personally.
n00bTard
I love this show with my entire body, even my peepee. Rushed right out yesterday to buy the second half of the second season on DVD. Raise your hand if you bought it too. Â Greatest show EVER. I also liked Firefly - its cancellation was one of the stupidest moments for a network known for stupid decisions. But I do have to agree that BSG is the better show. This and Firefly are probably the two best scifi shows (IMHO) of the last decade (and I do think that Enterprise's last season was showing big improvements, and yes, I've seen Babylon 5, Deep Space Nine, Andromeda, Farscape, the Stargates, blah blah blah)
Cpt_Nemo
I'll most likely watch the next series just to see how they salvage the appalling last episode of series 2. Seem's to me they run out of money and tried to cram 5 episodes into 1. Â And, Quantum Leap was better, so was Babylon 5, Farscape & Enterprise. Still, in my top 5 sci-fi shows though, at no.
Jagdraben
Seems to me that they decided to take the show in a completely different direction. Â Which is good, because three seasons of the same floating-through-space and fighting off the Cylons would be boring. And dumb.
DazJW
But they haven't found Earth yet, there's got a be a good season's worth of episodes of them legging it from that planet and trying to get to Earth. Â Or they could just not bother, and make friends with the cylons. Which is what the rumours I heard a fair while ago said. Â Â I LOVE the way the action bits are done, but there's not enough of them. It's not so much sci-fi as a drama with some shooty bits.
sekiryu
They have found Earth....and then the Cylons found them because an agent detonated a nuke in Earth's orbit....and now they're living under Cylon rule. Â www.scifi.com has some webisodes about "the resistance".
DazJW
Erm.. that planet isn't Earth. It's that planet that they went to in the original series with the old civilisation, where they found how to get to Earth. Kobol I believe it was called. Hence the ex-president woman looking at the maps and seeing a full city when it wasn't actually there. Â Edit: Hang on, I'm confusing myself here. Managed to think the final 2 of season 1 was season 2... Â Anyway: The season 2 planet is New Caprica.
n00bTard
I think he's talking about "new caprica" which is just some planet they found, which is actually pretty crappy but livable, which they probably won't be on for more than the first half dozen episodes of the new season before they are all back on Galactica and in space. DazJW
Galactica/Pegasus are gonna have a *badgeress* to come and pick everyone up, they've got next to no crew. Only way I can see it happening is if another band of people are found that can crew the Battlestars - Pegasus' original civilian fleet?
Melonfish
we hope. Â anyhoo whomever says the old series sucks must GTFO. it was kick *albartroth* make no mistake. Â pete
DazJW
You can't say either is better than the other though, they're entirely different things.
