The day American soil is invaded is the day that all the partizan *beep* goes out the window and people revert to a WWII mentallity. And with that mentallity comes hundreds upon hundreds of production lines and plants that can churn out thousands upon thousands of tanks, guns, nukes , planes, ect everyday.  not to mention the millions of gangstas, home boys, farmers, eagle eyed rednecks, hunters, gung-ho gamers, CEOs, Surburbanites and whatnot that will head to the nearest recruiting center.

Together we win!

hooray!

surely im not he first to notice that this one kinda overrules all the other ones??

all china needs is a couple of nukes and america would be out the picture in a day or two, there would be no need for them to actually incade you and even face your redneck gangstas or whatever.

No one will have to "beat" China, they will probably self-destruct, just like the Soviet Union.

That's an interesting "probably". Based on very little fact I take it? The two are very different. Especially since China has become the worlds market, I don't think anyone's going to stop them.

You have heard of that thing that happened not so long ago... What was it called... I think it was the Cold War perhaps? Not even North Korea are crazy enough to actually launch a nuke.

oh yes go sarcasm, that allways wins on teh internets...

of course ive heard of the cold war but im saying that it doesnt take a whole nation to be behind a nuclear bomb, im sure that there are people in the world that are more than capable mentally of launching a nuclear bomb against the states, the fact that none of them appear to have them at the moment shouldnt be reasuring us much either.

its not that i want to sound like a scaremonger or anything stupid but just becouse no-ones fired nuclear missiles for the last 60 odd years doesnt mean that it cant happen now.

If America continues it aggressive foreign policy chances are if push did come to shove and there was a war between the US and China (however extremely unlikely that will ever be) chances are at least some of other nations its stepped on in the past will take the opportunity to put the boot in as well.

Getting back to the subject of a North American Union it seems that the countries with most to lose have the biggest issue. Keeping the status quo seems to be the priority over the welfare of the their citizens. Such unions can be mutually beneficial such as the United Kingdom, 4 countries all with a self governing powers with the wealth distributed accordingly.

well, I'd not go THAT far- plenty of people in positions of power genuinely ARE that stupid- hey, when was the last time a politician got elected cos he was CLEVER? please...

its just that, in between the usual strutting and posturing, there's a whole bunch of people running around behind the big cheese making sure the damn fool doesn't actually cause ww3.

Kennedy's behaviour during the cuban missile crisis is a classic example- if it had been left souly to him, we'd have blown each other back to the dark ages.

as to china- please, the reality of the situation is this- empires rise, empires fall. the 19th century was Britain's, the 20th century was Amerca's, theres a good chance, if we make it that far, that the 21 century might actually become know as China's century- they've got plenty of work to do, certainly, but the way things are going, it's new monetary power will, like in the US and Britain before it, gradually trickle down to the rest of the nation, more political freedom will be had (lets not forget that "democracy" is an extraordinarily loose term, and there's no reason why it has to be associated with capitalist free market economics as it is in western countries), and they will, eventually, become the worlds most dominant nation.

There might be a few protests about this from the countries it over takes, and there might even be a few wars- probably proxy wars- before everything settles down.

sorry folks, but if we're still here as a species this time next century, I'd be HIGHLY surprised if we aren't being taught Mandarin as a second language in our schools.

things change. its called history. embrace it and move on :)

EDIT: leadmill- not been to Wales then of late? sure they've got the, ahaha, assembly, but wealth being distributed accordingly? they'd do better to secede and ask the EU for a big fat cheque than expect to get a fair deal from London.

Hmm, Britain isn't even in the top 11...

Having more soldiers doesn't mean you have the best military.

Britain has about 110,000 combat troops, which is rather unimpressive. If this number drops below 100,000 it is apparently then referred to as a defense force rather than an Army. British soldiers may be some of the best trained in the world but it wouldn't make a great difference if we were invaded by say; China's 2 million soldiers :D
