Kuutti
Is this a joke?
teflon don
it looks like its real http://www.t-cube.hk/product.html it would be cool but not really that useful (there are radios who have the same function)
Kuutti
It looks a bit HALO-esque, the difference being that it can only show the position of your teammates. Good for avoiding friendly fire, I suppose. But really, are you going to be looking down at a screen during a skirmish? "Let's see, tom is over there and harry is over here, d'oh I've been hit!" I wonder what the price tag is.
Phoenix
Meh. Would only be useful in using it to track props or certain things like that.
galactica
It would be extremely useful in long milsim scenarios. Question is, does it really work, and are they for sale?
Danke
If I ran into a group of folks using those I'd get one of my own, find their channel, and hunt them.
DrKalinka
Yeah. I fear that would be exploited, but remember, they would know where you are as you pop up on their scanners too...
teflon don
its the same thing with listening to the radios of the other team its useless and stupid airsoft is a game of honor you have to trust the players
Danke
You can listen to radios all you want but if your oppenents are using proper voice procedure you won't pickup enough info to turn the tide. Jamming frequencies the other team uses is not cricket.

RacingManiac
Alien game!
kojak
I doubt it would work as well as this. If you've ever played milsim you can imagine how nice it would be to know precise locations rather than the usual guesstimates you hear over the radio. You could get similar benefits from a grid map of the AO and a cheap GPS unit.
galactica
since the garmins need keying to update, this would be far better for tactical purposes. provided it works at all, of course.

My friend bought that Rino, and we though it does the job we want, but it only updates location like 30 sec or soemthing plus u need to upload maps....... not fast enough for on going game. Reincarnation...
Just attach it to your gun COD6 style. Lol. May be useful to know the location of 9 of your others guys on a screen without having to use the squawk box. Teammates can potentially regroup sooner without relaying information constantly has the rest team push forward with the objective.
orca
Just needs an RIS mount or Monicle and a "Let's get food/drink" button.
DrKalinka
What it really should have is a "Medic" AND "Emergency" button. So that when you are shot at you press emergency and when you get hit, you press medic. That way, the medic knows where to run and the other team members know where the pressure is at. kojak
I stand corrected, but a precise position updated every 30 seconds is still a lot better than "I'm 200 yards from a brown rock, over". You would know where a fireteam or recon element is located when they radio in, and use that info to make sense of their reports on enemy positions; you don't really need to watch their blip run around a screen. OTOH this thing looks like a lot of fun, hopefully it's cheap.
MCXL
This would work really well for an alien game. All the aliens would get scanners, which they would be allowed to turn off if holding still. The humans would get 1 scanner. Hilarity ensues.

The Saint
It's got a USB socket? The possibility of firmware updates and functionality improvement would be a good selling point.

Noveske
I've contact the company. Let's see if they'll actually reply and at what price. But it looks like an OEM item anyways, so I'm going to source for other similar products.
