Reppyboyo
Is the Real Sword scope any good? Just wondering if I should buy the rifle with (import) or without(local) the scope.
Reppyboyo
Well I purchased one. Was going to go Landwarrior but the last one sold out before I decided to buy, bah. Anyway, got mine from Airsoft global, with scope (non scope sold out). So far, a bit disappointed really. Red tip (how do I remove this?) Stock has a large crack in it and wobbles. Scope is not easy to use, can only focus on the reticle with both eyes open. Also, scope does not come with battery, I don't know what it uses or where it goes. Going to send off the membership card asap and see if I can get a replacement stock.
Reppyboyo
Right I need to get this down to 350, anyone know how to open the gearbox? Got it down to thee point where the only thing I can see keeping it together is the silver metal thing on the top. I cant seem to get this off however.
counterassasin
Do you mean the metal clamp on top of the gearbox, like the V3 gearbox has? Just slide it backwards, and it'll come off.
Reppyboyo
Got there in the end, took a little bit of hammering with a screwdriver though. Got it down to 390 with an old spring which is still too high so have to do it again. joy!
Reppyboyo
Anyone know the battery type that the scope uses? Been looking around on google and seem to get different answers.

Reppyboyo
Got some AG13`s (or whatever designation you wish to choose). Unfortunately it appears to scope illumination does not work. What a bummer. Also, Real Sword have yet to get back to me form when I emailed them Tuesday. Bit annoying. They're still catching up from New Year I just got a reply this morning about direct purchase of a type 56, that I sent them just before Feb. Reppyboyo
Fair enough. Emailed RS a few times in the past and they always got back to me next day.

Reppyboyo
Doesn't illuminate at all sadly. Anyway skirmished it today. My arms are killing me, heh. Otherwise the rubber is defiantly more for higher fps`s, with .25`s it seemed to struggle to get a flat trajectory. Should be fixed as easy as a new softer rubber, possibly a better nub as they did seem to be hooking right. Fun fun though, enjoyed using it.
muffe66
illumination works in dim light. not in full daylight. same function on the real SVD scope. and your bulb might be lose. Edited February 21, 2011 by muffe66
schneiderboy
I've got a problem with my mags, none of my four mags feed right. I know that it might could be because of the bbs, and not loading them full helps a bit. But is there a way to make the work 100%? Maybe stretching the spring or insert a screw so more tension is created. Do yours work flawlessly? Cheers Daniel
Reppyboyo
What brand BB? Mine are fine.

counterassasin
All the 9 RS SVD mags I have, feed flawlessly with everything I've fed them, including G&G, KSC, SGM, and Madbull BB's.
schneiderboy
Stupid phone, messed up my post, sorry. I use 0.33 BBs in them. Do you load your mags full counterassasin?
adadqgg
If my experience with my lot of Type 97 mags is dependable... They need lubes, lots of it.
bluntshooter
the scope illumination does work, it's just extremely dim, you need to be in a completely dark room to see it clearly, like the real steel so don't complain. The scope itself is the best replica scope i have, I love the adjustment on it since it moves the reticule and not the entire view. Literally shoot a shot, watch where it goes and move the reticule there, it's that easy. The finish on the scope is very similar to the real scope, (if not exactly the same) not just some half arsed powder coat. and while I'm on the topic of finishes, what the fishhook is up with real sword putting crappy finishes on their newer batches? I'm glad i picked mine up from the first batch.
Reppyboyo
Well found the issue with the hop, it wasnt the hop at all. Turns out the spring I put in there 'bedded in' from 300fps down to 240fps....yikes. Switched to a guarder SP90 which is yielding a more healthy 340~fps, a little close to the limit but with some bedding in it should go down a little. Going to leave the hop alone now and try again on sunday and see the results. Also, got the scope illumination working. It prefers high quality batteries, initially purchased some cheapo ones I spotted last shopping and they didnt not work in the scope. Bought some fresh quality ones online and they work well. Its unlikely I will EVER use the illumination on the scope, I rarely skirmish in dark conditions.
Reppyboyo
Changed the hop to a Guarder clear bucking and SCS nub, pretty standard setup in all my previous AEG's. Unfortunately I dont have anywhere to test any accuracy improvement/detriment till my next skirmish. Otherwise, consistency has improved to a variance of barely +/-1 fps, formerly being +/-5fps with the stock rubber. Hopefully groupings will improve and I wont get any fliers. Reppyboyo
Well, the Guarder didnt last long oddly. Went to skirmish the consistency was all over the place. About every 5 out of 10 shots dived to the floor. On the good side however the other 5 had most excellent range and improved groupings. So, what bucking/nub combo`s are y`all using? Quick skim through the thread sees the Madbull Shark (black) rubber and fishbone spacer seems popular. Do you think this would be suitable for a lower fps(350fps) setup?
