A stock CA36 will strip it's piston if a high quality 9.6V battery is used.  You should at least upgrade to a 370fps spring before using a 9.6V battery.

 

Are you sure? I thought for sure a 9.6 could be used, and how would changing the spring make the piston more durable??? I was gonna buy a CA36 rifle, but I am not sure if it cant take a 9.6.

A higher-rated spring will decrease your ROF when using a 9.6v, thus saving your piston. And yes, CA36s are fine on 9.6v batteries stock, just don't get a gigantic one with a really high mAh rating or discharge rate, and don't be an auto-######. You'll be fine.
