ShinSeiki
So this just popped up on my facebook feed...
Isamu
Yep, it was quickly mentioned in the Krytac kriss thread as well. Quite surprised and slightly excited after earing the expected price (from 390€ IIRC) I don't think the official Krytac one will be much more expensive Time will say
ShinSeiki
Maybe it's the camera, maybe KWA has spoiled me, but that plastic looks hella nasty. I was expecting the price to be under 300€ to be honest.
Isamu
To be honest, I expected the price to be on the 200€ or 250€ range, I know it is a new gun and they made new internals, but it is still an ACM gun and we all know those always have their quirks. The gun looks bad, but I almost sure it is a prototype and not a final release model. I will be waiting for more news, videos and reviews before deciding between A&K and Krytac, meanwhile, many respect points to both for working so hard to give the customers cool guns which are actually new and they/we want
bankz5152
That looks horrific. The plastic looks like 1mm thick injection mold, fire selector is in the wrong place, missing almost all of the detailing. Looks more like an LPEG.
blobface
Yeah this looks like a bad prop cast of the Kriss.. and with this being an AEG, it really looks like you're holding a black plastic box with some internals thrown in there somewhere, like an AEG version of an ACM peq box.. hitmanNo2
I was going to say GBB version please. But not if it will look like that.
johny_blaze
I guess I'm the only one not that bothered by it's appearance.
bankz5152
Then you must be blind. On my phone, my spelling will suck
Horsem4n
Well, I think it looks ok for an A&K AEG try, but they had the GBB to make it better. Totally screwed the pooch on the fire select switch. But I dont really mind if it means there's less moving parts. I do mind that its this expensive though. Maybe it's got ptw internals, which would make the selector switch being way out of place an even bigger problem. Or maybe they learned from the release of the Masada (which came out at $180 iirc) and know they are going to sell out quickly and probably never get this one licensed. So, they will probably sell well regardless of price and they know it. They wanted to do it and they need to sell less at this price to pay for the tooling. Speaking of which, they probably went for "good enough" and cheaped out on the molds knowing they were probably only going to sell the first batch or so.
rusTORK
I hope they don't make GBB from AEG. =) It will break on first drop or even shot.
Mike_West
Pass. It's the JLS F2000 all over again, and trust me, I had that one.
Gunnman
The JLS didn't cost 440 USD.
Katotaka
*Jump jack intensifies not
Horsem4n
I hope they don't make GBB from AEG. =) It will break on first drop or even shot.I meant that they could get their hands on a KWA vector instead of going off pics of the real one like they did with the Masada.I havnt seen any news of a gbb vector from a&k Also, A&K builds are not great, but they are a light year ahead of most things from JLS. paranoiddroid
Where should the fire selector on a kriss be? To me that looks like a preproduction prototype I'm sure the production gun will look better though the fire selector maybe won't change. I am really looking forward to what a&k do with this new hv layout though it looks like we could see some interesting guns depending on the size.
bankz5152
Selector should be on the upper about 4" in front of the safety On my phone, my spelling will suck
Horsem4n
Yeah, paranoid, there are 2 selector switches on the vector (the discontinued K model and civilian vector had 1). one for the safety and one, further forward on the upper receiver for fire select. Since civilian models of the gun only have 1, you'll have to look at a pic of the KWA or the full auto model to see the 2nd switch. On the real one, the fire select switch is on the same plane as the safety switch along the upper receiver. On this a&k model, the FS switch is down on the lower receiver. I imagine they designed it this way for easier end user disassembly of the rifle and to cut a corner on engineering the design.
allizard
A&K based their design on the KWA body. That's the only reference they can get. But even knowing that.... they still manage to put the fire selector at the wrong position.
Wingmann
I don't think it's "managing". They probably just decided it was simpler that way.
Gunnman
Simple or not, it looks hideously stupid.
uscmCorps
Hicaps? Ewww. A&K has traditionally not really cared about licensing. They've played along in some cases but once the allotment of licenses have expired, they basically said f* it, we'll make them anyway. With Krytac/Kriss owning the rights to the Copyright and IP it'll be interesting to see if this gets much dealer traction. Fundamentally it comes down to the copyright/IP owners to enforce their rights and leveraging their brand and selling power against their dealers to not take inventory of this product. If the big companies (WGC, Redwolf, Ehobby, Evike etc) play nice then that's a testament to the copyright owners market control. On a personal note, I'd rather wait till Krytac gets their Kriss Vector released. I was pretty impressed with it at Shot Show. If they have midcaps for it and functional burst fire, I'll be a happy camper.
Wingmann
Functional burst fire, that'd be nice. We'll see.
paranoiddroid
It's not hard to do so shouldn't be missed off I mean there's Chinese manufactured mp5s that do it natively and a vfc that does it without a fet or electronics
icolater
Soooo glad I got a couple of kwa vectors when they were available. think this platform needs to be GBB to show off the bolt travel design. Also this version is terrible looking.
