Nice to see that the Kimber thread came back to life. Maybe it will help keep the 1911 thread a bit less cluttered.

It would be really cool to see Vicious' and Junior's guns in the same picture. They both look great.

hkssr20det, as always your current Kimber looks great. I don' recall ever seeing the one above it though.

Was that a franken gun that just got put together one day in passing?

I'm a big fan of Kimber too. I think, this specific smooth sight design and the wide serations make the look, that makes it so appealing to me.

The only funny thing on the kimber hype is (as it was stated already some pages before): Since USMC Special Operating Command troops (I hope this is right) have replaced their tuned up Springfield MEU with the special Kimber USMC issued version, a lot of people are crazy for this brand. Well, LAPD SWAT unit (the famous one for the city area covered in many hollywood movies) with their Kimber TLE Custom II have done their part, too.

But since the USMC change everybody goes for a Warrior which is just the civilian version. The authentic USMC one is the Kimber Marsoc, with correct USMC trademarks and Dawson Milspec Rail, if I am informed right. I feel, this model was quite overlooked for some time. And the Warrior started the hype on this with the nice desert and green coated versions. But as we see on the pictures the warrior fits the outfits excellently. And that's the important thing. ;)

I have one myself, a classic black one. A really nice piece of GBB.

I have a silver mag release and slide stop I could trade for your black ones....

You'll just need to source a silver slide, thumb safety, grip safety, grip screws, and main spring housing....

EDIT: Doh...New page...Well here's a pic then.

As we have some Kimber specialists here, I wanted to know something related to the topic and the posts:

I have no idea about real steel thing and I mainly know about the Marsoc (I don't remember the real steel name of the USMC version at the moment), the civilian version Kimber Warrior and the one and only Kimber TLE Custom II because of their use in military and law enforcement.

I know about the Raptor and the Kimber Custom Shop. But I have not a real clue why some of you are so hot about getting a raptor oder CPD (right name?), an Eclipse or other Kimber Custom 1911. I'd be interrested in some insight, what makes those models so interresting for serveral Kimber fans around here. Thanks …

Absolutely, that's why I love Kimber … because of the looks. I only realized they were used by SWAT and UMSC after discovering Kimber as a custom-1911 brand. If it is only the look, than it is clear. But maybe Eclipse, Raptor Custom Shop and Co. have a certain aspect to it in real steel that makes it even more appealing as an airsoft model to some people.

So … not to talk and ask all the time, I made some pictures of my Warrior to contribute … all stock except of the grips (the original WA remakes of the G10s are really a joke, pitty  )

Just normal wood grips, nothing special or popular brand. Got them from an local internet auction. Only bought it because I liked the pattern. They loose the kimber quite a bit of weight because they are way lighter than the metal inlayed stock grips. But a good feeling in the hand. We don't have micarta grips around. This will be my next thing for the kimber.

They look good mate.

It is nice to see a Kimber with a normal, plain pair of wooden grips for a change.
