BigD_SealTeamXXL
If you were to treat it as a life-death situation, i doubt you would perform as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> or as fast
The End
hahah ouch. does any one use a "shield" for CQB? I think that that would be good.
Hardcore_Mitsuko
I've seen it used as part of a game objective at Spectre Wargames. Adds an interesting dynamic to the game
Night_raven
An sometimes an Annoyance. Down at Fallout we've jus replaced our crummy round one's with proper tall riot sheilds. Peeps use them an then end up actually hitting you with them.
Rob15
My perfect CBQ team = A select few of the guys from F&O who just play for a laugh
GuzziHero
Hear hear. Us guys at Unreal have a philosophy...if we win, thats great. If we dont, we had a good laugh trying. Its only a game, peeps. For me, the best CQB team is one who can point their guns at the enemy, not just their attitudes.
newbkiller
kinda off-topic, firstly, wow, this is astounding, them ammount of people responding to this. secondly, whatda ya think, my team is attending a big CQB event, here in denver on the 20th and we all plan to wear suits we will aquire at the local thrift shop. We thought of this after watching Heat.
Belladonna
well if you want to, cqb can be more fun, but tbh, for cqb, you want protection, as it WILL hurt, so wear body armour under the suit lol and carrying mags? reload speed will decide a firefight at some point... accesability of mags is key, as is storeing used ones, and transitioning to sidearm when you need to... by all means do it, but expect it to be fun, not practical. Lance Jackass
We're also talking about different styles of urban here. From what i've heard electro is one large building with hundreds of rooms on different floors is it not? Whereas PU, LFU or UA are outdoor sites, where not only do you have to get into the building to fight through it, you have to move across open ground to get to it in the first place. You can't really just pistol it at say urban assault. Likewise, you couldn't really take a scoped up sniper rifle to electrowerkz. Specific to task and all that.
Hardcore_Mitsuko
Good point LJ, even though as far as I recall there is one guy who uses a VSR10 at Electro.
starburst
Neo...many guns one mag each To be serious a good CQB/Urban team would be a group of guys/girls who work well together and are kitted out for the area they are playing. Like has been said before I think its important to be flexible, both with your role within the team and the weapons your carrying. If you need a guy to go in first and the guy "who always goes in first" is ill then someone else needs to step up. CQB/Urban is something I havent played as often as Id like so hearing about all these different methods of doing in different sites is really interesting.
Endospore
My perfect team would be... 4 man squad including: Shotgun on point, 2 SMG's, and support on back. The shotgun breaches the door and enters the room, along with at least 1 SMG. The support gunner and, if the situation applies, the 3rd SMG stay out of the room. Keeps crossfire down and also allows the SMG and support to watch the door. Once the shooting starts, enemies will rally. The support would also be able to hold up in a room if we were assaulted heavily, while the shotgun and one SMG can continue on as scouts for a flank, way out, or to clear the rest of the building. Support could also be set up with a view of the front of the building, so as to keep more tangos from entering. So yeah, with a couple weapon variations, that would be my team. Weapons of choice for the SMG's would be MP5 PDW's, MP7's (doubtful on the MP7's though), P90's, Sig 552's, basically anything small and compact. The support gunner would have an M249 Para, most likely. The shotgunner would have maybe an M3 full size or a SPAS 12 if the situation called for extreme compactness (those are the only two shotguns I know of in airsofting Otherwise he would probably have something like a Jackhammer *I think thats the name* or a USAS, since he would be a room clearer) I would be one of the SMG's, and probably support for the support gunner. (meaning I'd stick with him during room clearings and such)

Kommando777
Well on my team Battleborn we have: 4 MP7s 2 G36s 4 CA 870s 3 P90s A lot of GBBs 1 UMP 7 M4s 1 M249 1 MP5K 1 AUG We are the best CQB team in our area but it's the skill that matters, not the gun. DarkAngel1
This thread was brought to my attention by one of our team. 1. DA's do not wear body armour, it really isn't needed at 328 FPS, take the minor pain and stop being a wimp. 2. DA's do not use box mags in CQB, they are considered a ridiculous item, to be fair hi-caps are already more than enough. The only exceptions to this are M249's which we don't use indoors. 3. DA's do not say things like the best two CQB teams are the two that I know and play on. we say things like we are yet to meet a team that has given us any real challenge in a CQC environment, and thats CQC, not FIBUA. 4. DA's never shy away from a challenge, often the distance it takes to get to a site dictates everything, if anyone wants a match followed by a return, make it worth our while by getting at least 10 -12 of you together and we'll be more than happy to reciprocate, might even make you some half time sandwiches. PM me or my 2ic Janno if you think you're up to it. 5. The DA way is to PLAY AIRSOFT, not to pretend to be a specific unit and act out a fantasy, every member of my team will play to get the job done absolutely within the rules, thats why every team member wears a number on their right arm, if you see them doing something you don't like come and talk to ME about it, don't be surprised if I have no respect for you because you've wispered this to someone in the hope that it gets back to me, have the nuts to speak to me directly and I will always take action. 6. Not every person who skirmishes at Electrowerkz is a DA, in fact since most of the marshaling staff come from the team, its rare if you get ten of us playing on the same night anymore, and when we do Janno generally splits us up to prevent walkovers. But then, it is OUR site....and we've been doing it constantly for three years.... 7. Electrowerkz is a 3 floors plus mezanine level former electric works, and is therefore a building. And whilst one of the floors has lots of obstacles to hide behind, there is no way it could be referred to as 'Speedball'. Belladonna, you obviously have never been. It is a CQC site, very up close and personal. Not FIBUA, where the size of your spring dictates your successes. 8. Each to their own on the choice of gun front.....I'm still experimenting after three years of hard-core skirmishing EVERY week.

starburst
Wish I had somewhere to skirmish every week...and that sounds HUGE. Think if Im ever gonna be in the area will have to take my kit and take a detour

DarkAngel1
Nothing wrong with liking sandwiches, i promise not to lace them with viagra..... Oh and for the record, there are three serving Met officers and four serving infantrymen on our team of 55 Airsofters. Please come down or wait for us to come up, play us and meet us before you pass judgement, you'll find us very friendly, helpful when your guns break and nothing like the legend....but be warned, if we come up, you have to come down! Out of interest how many are on your team?
Belladonna
currently we have 12 teammembers. numbers means nothing... and dont give leadmill the idea of viagra laced sandwitches he doesnt need encouragement... and DA01, i have spoken to Janno, Talk to him before trying to continue a fight which has been resolved... DarkAngel1
no part of that post was intended as an argument whatsoever....today was the first read I got, as team leader it'd be nice for me to have my say when my team and site are getting ripped, wouldn't you say? It may have sounded arsey to you, but I wasn't trying to get your back up with the numbers thing, i just want to make sure that there will be enough of you to play us when we come and visit or vice versa. I'm sorry if you misunderstood my post.

I'm getting sick and tired of aggressive posts around here. Play nice, or play somewhere else. You may very well think you're simply being amusing and it's the rest of us who should learn when you're just having a joke. Perhaps our sense of humour is out of whack? Wrong. You sound aggressive. Pack it in.
