Among the few 'standard' kit is what has been mentioned here, but I could figure you could take alot of leeway after the LBT or BAE. I've seen Arc'teryx, both LEAF and standard outerwear, BEYOND TACTICAL uniforms and outerwear, heck I've even seen North face before. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Most units under SOCOM have a lot of leeway with kit, and a lot of guys will buy stuff to use down range and back at home, that would be why you see some guys in hunting camo, they use it back home. Â AFSOC also has a lot of different "jobs" their guys do, PJs and CCTs do completely different things, and CCTs also get assigned to units and as such use kit from those units or fit in with the crowd in other means, they then take those experiences back to other CCTs as well. This would be why some of the guys in AFSOC have kit that almost exactly resembles what the Teams are using, just in MC (sometimes in AOR as well). Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Even if it takes me an eternity. Â Also, somewhat related, why do CCTs occasionally run DMR platforms? Wouldn't they carry a regular rifle as their primary duty is comm-related stuff, rather than being a designated marksman? Â As was explained to me from multiple CCTs, they have to hang back in order to do comms work, so they need weapons that can provide overwatch for the forces they are providing support for incase they need to engage from that distance back.
