You know you've been playing too much airsoft when...

American Guns is much, much better i agree.

However even though the father on it is a gun toting nut i would still try and have a crack at his daughter ;)

Though did anyone see the episode with the tart that ordered the bright pink 1911, what the hell seriously, that is just wrong :P

For those that don't know what i mean:

This woman:

Ordered this gun:

Which aside from the colour scheme, works for me (the 1911, NOT the woman).

Now that is when you do it too much, you want the gun :P

Sons of Guns ain't all that. All he seems to do is bodge rails on stuff or build poor man's versions of military tech while claiming it's a world first. I prefer American Guns as you get to see a bit more of the actual building and gunsmithing.

Though Rich's daughter in American Guns isn't as easy on the eyes as the chick from Sons of Guns. :P

Ahhh I know, It's just for the entertainment value (And the appreciably hot gun toting daughter). I have to admit, when they attempted to build the Gatling shotgun, it was literally a case of 'Well, doing it properly is hard so we'll glue some Saiga's together'. Totally agreed on that they big themselves up a tad, and they also twist a lot of facts for entertainment/awwww value. Perfect example being where they get the WW2 Vet to shoot his 8" Luger, and circle 4 shots on the paper and claim that was the group he shot, when in actual fact the video before shows rounds hitting in totally different places. Not to knock the guy, I'm sure he was an awesome shot, but the guy was about 85, and definitely did not shoot a 2" group.

And to get it back on topic...

You know you're an airsofter when you only tidy your desk at home because you have a gun to work on.

When you tidy your GF's kitchen table to work on a gun you know that it may be time to stop.

Yeah right :P

Plus it gave me a chance to strip down in front of her and show the inner workings (must resist the comments ;))

A screencap of mid conversation isn't really a fair photo to make judgement on... She's not exactly ridiculously pretty, but the fact she's got a decent figure and knows guns is where the attraction comes from, for me at least. That blue AK she's got is a *fruitcage* monstrosity though.

That just looks wrong, but hey every time i have to explain to a mate why he shouldn't sleep with that plastic tart he has picked up i am going to show him that pic and go, that is what she will look like :P

But either way i never got Sons of Guns, felt a bit too much like guys that really shouldn't be allowed out, but then again i don't know what it is but do American factual shows always have to be made to feel like they are pandering to 12yr olds? Even when i watch Magpul videos it feels a bit 'we know everything but to explain it we have to take little baby steps together' either that or they are not actually sure but instead of taking time to explain it they just go 'erm, well yer' then make stuff up.

Maybe i am too used to the harsh reality that is British documentaries, as we all know that in nature if you are not fast or smart enough you are *fruitcage*-ed, pure and simple.

If they explained everything in a clear and concise manner, they wouldn't be able to drag it out for an entire hour. And we definitely can't confuse 'American reality TV' with anything resembling a documentary. Typically it is all about maximizing drama and obnoxious behavior while nominally being informative on some subject.

I've never considered it anything more than an entertainment show with the odd random fact chucked in. It's good for gun porn and seeing strangely likeable hillbillies shooting the *fruitcage* out of stuff. Luger as an example again, as soon as they noted the lack of proofmarks I said to my flatmate 'That'll be because it was chucked out the factory in the dying days of world war 1'... The owner of RedJacket had to ask the expert to find that out.

Still... 3 saiga's bolted together being driven around a scrapyard tearing up cars? Beats the hell out of most other stuff on TV!

They're all oddly likeable, I imagine they'd be a laugh to have a pint with. And in England we get all sorts of awesome documentaries :P

...You know you're an Airsofter when you complain on the internet about the fact that gun related television is neither forthcoming nor accurate.

Which we get much later after having some celebrity redo the voice over...cause, you know, we don't speak the same language or anything...

Sweet, see, I was on topic the whole time!

Then they start using a cheap, magnetisable metal and you are screwed :P

Though i do find myself spending spare time at work doing the 'right i want a new pistol, lets see what films and games it has been in to get an idea of its looks on screen and loadouts to do'. That is the sign of a person that plays too much, would help if i had stuff to do at work.

About the best thread for me to put this in I figured.

Shortly after I got to the falklands I realised that only bringing brand new issued boots with me was a bad idea (I blame this on the fact that I do not usually wear CS95 to work). So I wrote an e-mail home and my very kind family put my oakleys in to the post for me. When they arrived, I saw this:

The BB is still in my wallet, and at roughly 8000 miles each way from London to Port Stanley, I'd say it's probably one of that farthest traveled BBs in existence.

Like what our pennies are made out of.... our 1s and 2 p's are magnetic...!

They didn't used to be until a few years back when copper started going up in price... They're steel with copper plating now I think? I remember reading something about copper was too expensive so they found a way to make plated steel coins the correct weight or something.

You decide to buy a specific lawnmower, despite the fact it's far too big for your incredibly small garden - because its controls are like the spade-grips & trigger of an M2 Browning .50 cal. Which automatically means the lawnmower is awesome.

when you demand a linky for said awesome lawnmower :P

I was drilling some holes the other day and thought to myself that I'd pay double for an electric drill with safety switches like ones on an AR, ambi style... safe -> drill -> reverse...
