Hoppum
The 2, 3 and 5 have lots of small square overlapping plates. the 13 has the large hexagonal one on the front and two rectangular ones on the back, like so.
Lizzard
Russian rigs are always interesting. I don't know if that's the most sensical plate design, though.

TheFull9
I wouldn't mind taking a look actually, gotta love some of the unusual designs those russians come up with.
FW200
Rear, overlapping titanium plates with kevlar. Front, overlapping ceramic plates with kevlar. Vest is from 1987 btw, so it wasn't Russian yet, it was still Soviet
The Crunchy Bunny
Heavy much?
ishikiri
How much does that russian vest weigh? Do the panels flap around much?
Lizzard
Why titanium in the front and ceramic in the back?
Azulsky
Spalling not as much of an issue since you are assumably wearing a pack i guess

FW200
Heavy much? How much does that russian vest weigh? Do the panels flap around much? It's about 9kg I think. I'm missing a couple of plates so don't know the exact full weight. It is noticably heavier in the front though. Not much flapping around if you secure it properly and adjust it to your size. Why titanium in the front and ceramic in the back? They probably figured ceramic in front and back would be too heavy and did this to still offer some protection. Besides, the only way you should move is toward the enemy Just kidding. The rear shouldn't really be considered to be bulletproof, it's more for protection against shrapnel. It's doable to skirmish in it, though mid summer it's not that handy.

TeamBanana
Eagle DFLCS
echodafish
You are going to have to explain how that is a DFLCS.
Lizzard
What is a DFLCS? On the Russian rig, you guys need to realize that all the mini pouches for plates are covered by the vest when it's fully assembled, so they're not going to flap anywhere.
reaper16
O gues the overlapping plates make it more flexible also? As a Sapi plate wont bend but a bunch of smaller plates will flex easier, makes sense anyway...
Lizzard
Looks like it, sort of like pre-Dragonskin-ish.

echodafish
No it is not. It is a very specific set of pouches and an H harness that is issued to AF cops.
Azulsky
plus you have non-eagle pouches on there anyway
