doc_newstead
I've used the Bowman backpack, it's very similar to the Arktis daysack (I wouldn't be surprised if it was made by them). It's just a normal 35l patrol sack, but with a separate compartment for the transceiver to go in. I've just ordered an issue COP vest from eBay, but this one has PLCE ammo pouches in place of the standard ones. Got it for the sake of it really, will see what it's like. Subb0
*complete edit save me the bergan is not like a patrol sack and is more specialized to be honest unless you have the system its a waste of time getting the pack as it is fitted for that purpose just get a northern island patrol bergan instead. there is no such thing as prc351 just to let you know too. also clansman is not not used any where or shouldn't be so if you want a modern look don't buy clansman stuff. just a tip. OK, I'm stumped. Please explain: - What the hell your post even means - Why I've had to carry around a radio that doesn't exist
Subb0
I wasn't making a comment about your picture I was making a comment on the bergan people wanted to buy. I'm not saying you didn't carry around a radio. I was telling people about the current gear in use in case they wanted to buy some thing that does exist rather than the non existent prc
morpcat
I'm just a bit concerned by the there is no such thing as prc351 just to let you know too
Guardsman
non existent prc 351 can i just say, prc351/2s are still used, because all the landrovers at my TA unit are fitted with them. yes they are going to be replaced, but they do exist, i can assure you that. Subb0
all clansman equipment even ta should of been recalled and shouldn't be used it is no longer taught and is (should) no longer be used I know a few ta units still use them but they shouldn't all ta units now have been issued at least one bowman piece of equipment and 1000 new landies are on the way fitted with bowman and the lowest piece of bowman equipment is the prc 354. Pkekyo-Nor
Is not used != does not exist Please stop failing completely at logics Thank you for your time.
Grim
Basically us poor TA have to wait until we upgrade fully to have nothing but bowman. But in the mean time, are we supposed to hand in all of our clansmen, and go completly comm'less? I think not. So until the adequite amount of bowmans are distributed we will just have to use the old clansman i guess. And i think there are a fair few other priorities before most of the TA units. Although i do look forward to getting more than the bowman laptop that we have(no clue as to what it does etc i'm not trained on it yet and it looks like a laptop hense the name). Oh and a picture of the bowman system on the wall at my place lol. Grim
Subb0
I'm telling you, and you wont get to use the laptop ta don't use the data serves on the equipment, our equipment on landies wont have it and we are not trained on it. I'm telling you your not meant to use clansman its bowman all the way now. I'm not going to argue any more I've said whats true and thats that get back on topic would be a good idea about now. no further comments on this subject from me. thank you
Grim
So we are to use naff all until issued the spanky new bowman's? Thats not my decision to make now is it? If my battery commander tells me use whatever, then im not gonna argue that toss with him lol. Any ways yeah we need to get back on topic. MORE DPM GOODNESS PLEASE PEOPLE!!!!! Heres one o found of one of the teams Section 2ICs attempting to pose and look good after falling on his *albartroth* after a hit from the enemy sniper. Tacticool or what eh lol? Kingmob3
Pics from after a training day this spring: Plenty more here: http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n139/PARA_Purdue/ Our current TL was a LT with the PARA's for about 2.5 years, in and out due to jump injury's. Most of the team are Civi's, but we do have a few ROTC guys. KM PS- I'm on the SAW in the last pic. I also realize that i've lost some where around 10 lbs since these were taken.Go balanced eating. Ubar
During your 'training' day did no-one explain spacing to you? not even your 'LT'?
Kingmob3
we've gone over it, would random pics after a training day be more appropriate. People scatter like roaches when the bbs start flying. KM
Grand'pa Cthulhu
It would be a bit hard to fit the whole team in one picture if the guys are 5 meters from each other. A little bit of common sense goes a long way when being nitpicky. And, nice pics kingmob3.

darkchild130
thought you guys would like to know that certain units in Afghanistan are being issued this plate carrier in desert dpm. I dont know why the MOD chose to go with blackhawk but i know that in the next 2 years or so all infantry should be equipped with this as the osprey has been deemed too heavy for long patrols and assaults. I personally cant wait, when the new clothes, helmet and this carrier are all on general issue, we might actually start looking like modern army finally! Darkchild
rwoodcock01
Funny you mentioned this Darkchild as I just found this on the net while avoiding working: http://www.qmstores.co.uk/gbu0-prodshow/HK-991028-DDP.html Hope that might help some folk out, I am happy with my Desert General OPS vest but this one I found did tempt me!
