Sledge
Does anyone have a picture of a TM 5.1 Hi Capa next to a 4.3 (or whatever the smaller one is)?
ColSanders
All these dragons make me wonder what a 4.3 or 3.9 dragon would look like... Alex "Col Sanders"
1647
Not the best picture in the world, but here's my contribution: STI custom two tone slide coming in the post so will put more pics up later!!!
Pyro
Why do some guns have that wierd meat hammer thing on the end? I'm not talking about the strike kit, I want the reason. Nice gun btw, 1647. And like Sledge said, a pic of a 4.3 next to a 5.1 please.
joeking27
So you can press it right up against something, with somewhere for gases to vent, and so the slide doesn't get pushed back.
Glenn
For Sledge and Pokethepope: Pictures are HUGE, sorry, PS is fighting with Norton since I updated and I'm still working on the fix. I'll take my rep points with compliments on my paintjob. Because its sooo coool. Edited March 2, 2006 by Glenn
Pyro
Thanks Glenn, nice paintjob may I add. Joeking, why would you wanna do that? Edited March 2, 2006 by Pyro
snowman
The idea springs from close protection work, where you might be pressed right up against someone and need to shoot them. Cheers.
Pyro
Ok thatnks, mates.
FUmiYAsu
The idea springs from close protection work, where you might be pressed right up against someone and need to shoot them. Cheers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> still don't quite get it... so I presume you can't do tht with a normal pistol as the hot gas from the bullet won't vent?
Pyro
Maybe it causes jams, or maybe it's one of those things you don't really need but has a cool concept.
Glenn
The meat tenderizer prevents the slide from being forced out of battery when you press it against someone/thing. This is bad, becuase pushing the slide out of battery trips the disconnector, meaning you can't fire.
Pyro
So basically the extra gas blows the slide back too much that the gun stops working? Then the Grenade Launchers in Killer7 are real stupid............... Edited March 2, 2006 by Pyro
Glenn
No, the gas doesn't leak out, nothing happens. You pull the trigger, but the hammer won't drop, because the trigger bar has been seperated from the sear by the disconnecter. Once the slide returns to its normal position, ie after you remove it from whoever's neck it was in, you can fire as normal. No loss of gas, no nothing. The problem is in that specific moment you want to be shooting, your gun is useless.

Glenn
Yup, but the spikes add a little grip, and a TON of coolness.
1647
Got my slde, Put it on, Looks like this Can't seem to get unit to fit when I put the rear sight on so I left it off for the time being!! Any ideas of which parts to file off?
Glenn
I never had to file that area with my SD slide, I did have to be careful and wiggle the sight around while pressing in the blowback chamber, though. I'd give it a few more tries before filing.
FUmiYAsu
I figured this would be a good thread to ask this question: Where can I find a online shop tht has a springfield or limcat hi capa slide in stock AND accepts VISA straight? (not paypal)... The other question is, is it actually realistic to put a 1911 slide on a 2011 frame? Edited March 4, 2006 by FUmiYAsu
psgP2
Well, here is my preciousss. WA Wilson Hi-cap with metalslide and all the extras to make it shoot better than my aeg... Also added the Nineball rail for Hicappa and it fits like glove. I use it for skirmish and it does the job. Edited March 6, 2006 by psgP2
