Mike Obrien
I've been meaning to put up a photo of my aug for a long time, this is the current set up on my main AUG, though the suppressor is commonly switched between that or the flash hider, but I may start trying different suppressors in an attempt to find one more... suppressing. scorch
Nice. The Docter on top of the stock scope is a nice touch.
Mike Obrien
Thanks mate, quite a late response, been meaning to. Yeah I had to put that there for when in tighter spaces and within 50-75 feet, much easier to aim with. Though I really shouldn't be using that on people within 100 feet of me considering it shoots 390 w/ 3s.......

Hedganian
That silencer works well with the "A3-esque" barrel/receiver combo, although I'd go with a grip or gripod myself - where are you going to put your other hand without any foregrip?
chas
Well, its a DMR/sniper setup. So no front grip I guess, like most bolt rifles or even semis (M14, SVD).
Hedganian
A foregrip doesn't have to be vertical - every sniper rifle I've ever seen has a place to put your non-trigger hand to increase stability and control.
Got Wood?
Plenty of room between the trigger guard and the bipod for a hand but she's not mine anymore
renegadecow
That silencer works well with the "A3-esque" barrel/receiver combo, although I'd go with a grip or gripod myself - where are you going to put your other hand without any foregrip? On the chin of the butt stock?
Hedganian
How would that help you while moving or standing?
renegadecow
For that you can put your support hand over the trigger guard like an AFG of sorts. But as a DMR/sniper with the bipod out you'll probably be shooting prone or supported most of the time where having the support hand on the butt stock is more comfortable. *not an AUG obviously, but the same applies Edited February 6, 2015 by renegadecow
Hedganian
Indeed. I often use that position when I've got the H-BAR on the bipod.
kapitan_jay
The so calld "H-BAR" in the different configurations: lMG77, ZfG77 and with "standard bar" as StG77:
Hedganian
"So-called"??
kapitan_jay
It is called like this, isn't it? ^^ I just prefer to use the Bundesheer designations in general.
Hedganian
Saying something is "so-called" implies that it's not that, but people call it that mistakenly. Whereas I'm given to understand that "H-Bar" is the designation given to that variant by Steyr themselves (as it's short for Heavy Barrel), which would make it a perfectly valid name. You're, of course, free to use the designations given by any Armed Force which actually USES the AUG - indeed I would encourage it - but such codes are going to be less well known outside the countries/militaries concerned.Leaving all that aside, though, your images were good - nice clean AUG configurations. Do you find the "issue" AUG sling any use? I find it only good for carrying the rifle, rather than being any good in combat, compared to a three-point sling, such as the British Army issue one. kapitan_jay
Well, it serves my needs since my days in the Army. Never had the need to replace it.
Murdoc
The so calld "H-BAR" in the different configurations: lMG77, ZfG77 and with "standard bar" as StG77: Nice! Is it possible to get RS IMG77 bipod/flash hinder in Wienna???
