Hedganian
The AUG has loads of room in the stock, unless your mosfet has vacuum tubes on it, you will be fine. Simply remove the plate that retains the gearbox and separates it from the battery compartment, put the fuse and mosfet on the gearbox side, and fasten the plate back into place. Should be plenty of room in there after that. Not that an 11.1V Lipo is really needed. The 7.2V ones pack more oompf than a 9.6V NiCd and that's plenty for an AEG running at a sane FPS and RoF... Evert 72
That would be perfect, i didnt know there were any that would fit, what make of lipo are you running? The ony possible problem is that im running a mosfet in the stock as well which takes up a little bit of space. Its made by bp and I got it from ebay for about £20 posted. Put most of the wiring and mosfet behind the gearbox retaining plate. Just have a small length of wire and deans poking out. As hedg said 11.1v is indeed overkill for airsoft. I only use mine when im doing casual skirmishing (with hi caps) and because I have a gearbox set up in such away that it will run reliably on a 11.1v. When using mid caps I switch to a 7.2v lipo. stuart pagram
Excellent, cheers for the advice guys, ive put the mosfet behind the plate & there is a suprising amount of space there now, ive found the battery on ebay so ill get a couple of them. Sticking with the 11.1v though for the rof (makes up for my poor shooting ability!!) Just need to find a way of fitting a lipo inside my sl8 so i can get rid of the cheek pad on that too. Fellowz
Post file, sanding and respray. sorry to quote pics but how do you manage to get the outer barrel this short i wouldnt mind an AUG if it had that sized barrel. cheers Edited July 5, 2009 by Fellowz
Hedganian
I use this 2100mAh 7.2V pack, which is approximately the same size as a standard 600mAh NiCd. It fits into my g36 and AUG (and G3 SBS, XM8, etc) without any problems at all. It gave me a massive boost over the 1500mAh 8.4V NiCd packs I was using before... EDIT: Fellowz - please refer to the AUG FAQ thread as linked in my Sig, where your question is fully covered. Edited July 5, 2009 by Hedganian
Fellowz
the links are dead. i did look on Evike.com and they are out of the barrels in question by the looks of things. bit of a bummer
Evert 72
Homemade lam and bracket mounted on F88 esc receiver. Needs an ACOG I think.
Hedganian
Evert - not too shabby there. Maybe get an elcan if you're going for the Aussie look (although I think it's too bulky to look good on the AUG) Fellowz - there should be repaired links further into the thread. If you let me know what links aren't working, I will try to get new links added.
Evert 72
Thanks Hedg, Took me a while to figure out how to mount the lam in roughly the correct place. Still debating between an elcan or ACOG. Will probably come down to price in the end.

Maybe get an elcan if you're going for the Aussie look (although I think it's too bulky to look good on the AUG) Starting to see a lot more ACOGs than ELCANs these days... particularly the NSN one with the backup iron sights. DarkLite
Starting to see a lot more ACOGs than ELCANs these days... particularly the NSN one with the backup iron sights. Probably because the ACOG holds it's zero much better than the ELCAN. Pity, I quite like the looks of the ELCAN.
Evert 72
Turns out the ACOG was cheaper...

L85FREAK
Also the side rails... Where did you get them custom?
Evert 72
There are no side rails. The lam bolts directly onto the metal bracket that sticks out from under the top rail. It's how I suspect they do it on the F88, judging from the many photos I have seen. I'm afraid its entirely custom. Wasn't hard to do, just time consuming. So if you want to achieve the same look you better get your toolbox out. Edited July 24, 2009 by Evert
Hedganian
Judging from the holes in your receiver, you've had a rail bolted onto the side at some point in the past?
Evert 72
Yeah, used to have a g36c rail on there. Worked and looked great, but didn't allow me to mount the LAM at the correct angle. Edited July 24, 2009 by Evert
Hedganian
Project AUG's 9mm barrel section is ready (Click for larger images): And with custom silencer too: 9mm magazine adaptor to follow, based on Classic Army's 9mm conversion kit for the M4.
Evert 72
Awesome. Look forward to seeing the finished article.
Treadhead
Drat and blast! Haven't had a chance to make mine yet... You win this round Hedge! Looks cool though! What are you planning on doing with the magwell converter? Grafting the bottom of the M4 adapter onto the top of an AUG mag? Or something a bit more involved?
Hedganian
Something like that.
DFM56
Anyone have pictures of a standard A2 with an ELCAN? I saw the video and the pictures of the RS with the elcans, but couldn't make out much detail. Might need to sell my m4, stanag aug + elcan is calling my name. the RS I've handled was very comfortable
Evert 72
By A2 do you mean the "Civ" model? Being, as they don't make a proper airsoft A2. If so there is a picture of one with an Elcan on about half way through this page posted by Cpt. Edited August 14, 2009 by Evert
