Dboys KAC PDW Review

Recommended Posts

Got mine recently, a couple notes. (engraved version w/ black trades)

-My sling attachment on the stock does have a groove for the ball bearing and it locks in securely and tight. I've pulled on it as hard as I can and it holds just fine.

-I was able to fit Systema hop up bucking and element H nub into the factory chamber with no fitment problems

-Inner barrel was caked with grease and gunk. Be sure to give that a good cleaning!

-Slight wobble between upper and lower receiver

-Slight stock wobble

Overall pretty impressed especially for the price. Also very light weight, appears to weigh about as much as a plastic mp5 I have.

A few updates on mine:

Confirmed shooting 455 FPS  . Need to drop it down to 330 for CQB

None of the sling points work except the one in the stock

No wobble

Finish will come off somewhat easily, but looks nice. Reminds me of the finish on the G&P URX RAS of my M4

Selector Switch is a bit mushy

Mags don't lock in easily (Easy fix though, there is some wiring that runs through the body, which is actually at the top of the magwell (Blocks mags from locking in easy)

yeah mine was 520fps i was like WTF ?

i had to cut down the spring about 6 coils, it was just about to have a failure (spring too short) when finally it started to fire at 360 fps at the last coil cut down.

I liked my Dboy one so much i bought a VFC one

I wonder what's up with China dropping in insane springs into the majority of their guns? And in a CQB KAC PDW?

Because their client market isn't the UK or the US, its Asia, where the majority of fields have fps limits that would give mods heart palpitations if I mentioned them.

Maybe they figure their products are more appealing to FPS hungry beginners due to cost?

Anyone try fitting the RA-Tech lipo mod kit in this?

Some info, you can easily change the grip and motor to a standard M4 grip and motor. Didn't need to lengthen the wires or anything complicated. Did a direct swap to an ICS M4 grip and 3000 turbo motor. Now has a hideous rate of fire with a 9.6 battery.

imho if its clone of the VFC (which it is isn't it?) part for part I don't see why it shouldn't fit, other than perhaps if the Dboys one is a little off in measurements or something

I think most of us can assume the "if" and "should". However, we'd prefer to know for certain considering the cost as well as any additional info that can be provided by an actual modder.

I have the RA tech battery in the mail, Ill let you guys know sometime within a week on how this all goes..

EDIT: guess I should have looked at the RAT site before I ordered the battery. I guess its something that a bit of dremel work cant take care of tho...

My gun is still a few days out but can anyone get pictures of where this piece would go and what the stock one looks like?

Thats not too bad, looks like they just took off that front bit. Shouldn't be too hard to tackle it with a drill press.

PDW-07 does not even look needed, are they just there for looks?
