Horsem4n Report post Posted October 29, 2017 But the WE pictured here is steel and you can see the welds for the top tube. Seems about the same quality to me.

blobface Report post Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) Someone correct if I'm wrong but aren't WE's MP5 and AKs steel bodied? Seems odd to assume they would downgrade to not having stamp steel bodies when they've shown they are capable. Edited October 30, 2017 by blobface
blobface Report post Posted October 30, 2017 i guess im one of the wierdos who wants just a standard 60's G3 and not some more modern variant. I'm putting this on mine...
fnc Report post Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) There is already a blowback .177/4,5mm airgun version of the p-320, now with the US army contract the race is on among as-mfgs to be first out on the market I kind of dream of fitting the WE g3 in a LCT body please let that be possible! Why LCT body ? more like the real one ? Here is LCT and this is WE Which is better ? LOL~~ Edited October 30, 2017 by fnc

Cesare Report post Posted October 30, 2017 Never realised it was a steel body but is it confirmed or assumed? I have seen the LCT body which looks very nice.
Habakure Report post Posted October 30, 2017 It's assumed based on the previous releases mentioned above (mp5 and ak's, both having steel bodies).
Brigg Report post Posted October 30, 2017 considering their mp5 is steel, id say its a safe assumption the g3 is too. Especially with the welding marks on the body.
Brigg Report post Posted October 30, 2017 Why LCT body ? more like the real one ? Here is LCT and this is WE Which is better ? LOL~~ Youre comparing a finished lct to a prototype WE? In that case the WE weld actually looks to be the better one. its relatively clean, even though they havent even dressed or painted over it. The LCT one on the other hand looks kinda nasty and jagged, and thats on the finished, painted product, as you would buy it. thats not to say that the production WEs wont have bad welding. But that lct weld is pretty .
NonEx Report post Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) Yes WE MP5 and WE AK receivers are stamped steel So yah, would assume the G3 will also be stamped steel receiver. I'm not G3 fan, so I don't get what is referenced between the RS pic, LCT and WE pic above? What are we looking at/for? renegadecow Report post Posted October 30, 2017 For me I find WE to be more realistic as they added those ridges on the charging handle tube. LCT looks like they just used a plain tube and a rather thin walled one at that.
blobface Report post Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) Youre comparing a finished lct to a prototype WE? I thought his point of posting those pictures was to say that there's no need to try to attempt to put the WE inside an LCT because the external is already nicer. Dimitri MdP Report post Posted October 30, 2017 WE is most likely going to be steel. Stamping steel is what WE has been doing for decades, even before getting anywhere near airsoft, and they are certainly good at that. Their AK and MP5 series are good examples of quality stamping. And WE's finishing has become quite good in the last ~2 years or so, you can see that both in new products as the WEagle as in new batches of older designs: if you see a recently-produced WE AK, their paint look so much better than older ones, and are much more scratch resistant. So I'm hoping for a really well finished product.
LordElpus Report post Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) thought i saw why fnc posted the comparison photos. Then i relooked and now gone back to not knowing. Edited October 30, 2017 by LordElpus
hitmanNo2 Report post Posted October 30, 2017 What did WE do before getting into airsoft?
Brigg Report post Posted October 30, 2017 well, according to their facebook page, they produced steel molds for other companies. Which means they were probably doing the casting as well. so it wouldnt be too surprising if they had been the oem for some other airsoft manufacturers. Gunnman Report post Posted October 30, 2017 (edited) I know WE has been for a long time, since the late 80's. Their own manufacturing of airsoft is a side gig for them. Edit: didn't see brigg's post. Edited October 30, 2017 by Gunnman
renegadecow Report post Posted October 31, 2017 They paint their AKs now? Kinda liked the blue finish of the old one.
Dimitri MdP Report post Posted October 31, 2017 They paint their AKs now? Kinda liked the blue finish of the old one. Well, I was actually referring to the bits and bobs that are not blued (and not even steel) e.g. the front sight, rear sight block, etc. The receiver, top cover and stock (in case of the 74U) are still blued, as always been.
blobface Report post Posted October 31, 2017 For me I find WE to be more realistic as they added those ridges on the charging handle tube. YouTube suggested Larry Viker's Iranian G3 video to me, it looks like the G3 he had there doesn't have the ridges on the charging handle tube... so perhaps it's unfair to say LCT's version is unrealistic due to that! renegadecow Report post Posted October 31, 2017 Between deliberately making a replica of an Iranian G3 and cutting corners by sticking on a modified shower curtain rod, I'd believe in the latter.
