the cleaner
Mathub, yeah, my Escort 416 fund has been raided. I just had to get a pair just in case they sold out. The 416 can wait a while. the cleaner, whats this about Ti gold coated PGC Springfield Faceoff kits? Pics/link? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> my bad Hitman. . I meant to say Sheriff (not PGC). .. however, PGC made 2x V12 kits in the past.. just never a Ti coated. . http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=/p...castor_troy.htm Edited June 4, 2007 by the cleaner
davedawg123
Do WA SCW3 Wilson Combat Super Grade w/ comp come with a standard inner length barrel or does it extend through the compensator? Also, does it use a barrel bushing?

Also, does it use a barrel bushing? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't say for 100%. . but if it follows any other WAs w/ comps. .then you have an ext. inner barrel that stops about halfway through the compensator. .. no barrel bushing because the compensator screws onto another bushings that surrounds/attaches to the outer barrel/breech. . Speedcomp, Optical Match, Championship, are a few that are like the Wilson Super Grade comp. .

davedawg123
Someone here fancy a V16 kit... Springfield silver controls, extended inner barrel... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> lol. V12, but close enough. I don't care for the compensator. I'm looking for a base gun that meets my criteria: SCW3, silver do-das, flat mainspring housing, ambi-safety, full length guide rod, three-hole trigger, full beavertail, and kimber style hammer. Looks like I'm limited to a SWAT II (no ambi-safety) or GM II (kimber 2-hole trigger). Considering the safety probably won't work on the Prime kit anyway, I'll probably go for the SWAT II since it's also cheaper. I do like that extended Wilson mag though. On second thought, would the compensator fit on the V12 kit? Edited June 4, 2007 by davedawg123
the cleaner
On second thought, would the compensator fit on the V12 kit? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you can make it work. . most slides (except for SVs (not incl. IEDs) because they use cone/bull barrels) have the slot cut out for a barrel bushing. .Wilsons, Kimbers, Colts all use barrels w/ barrel bushings. the issues you have to use the comp: 1) you must use an ext. outer barrel/breech made specifically for guns w/ comps. . Sheriff , Guarder and PGC make them. . . or you can use the one from a stock WA w/ comp. 2) you will not be able to use your stock breech/chamber unless it's from a WA w/ comp. 3) you will not be able to use your V12 outer barrel if you get the V12 Prime kit. 4) you'd have to drill ports into the comp bushing since that part emulates a cone/bull barrel. I'll get you a pic of what I'm talking about if you're not familiar. Another option, which I'm not sure if it will work, is to buy a Wilson Combat compensator that works w/ barrel bushings. . I don't know if real steel barrel bushings will work on airsoft. . I say no. . at least not without modification. Even if you successfully make the comp work. . you'd have to modify the tip (about 3/4-1 inch) of the V12 barrel so it clears the inside diameter of the comp. hitmanNo2
I was ready to go skirmishing, but today's cqb game was canceled. http://mathub.free.fr/airsoft/repliques/expensive_case/IMG_0001.jpg <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mathub, what sort of holster/mag pouch set up do you have? the cleaner, yeah, i've seen those PGC 'Japan set' V12 slides, on their own though, with no matching frames. I've also seen those Sheriff Ti coated V12's. They're a bit rich for me though, especially when they're not screen accurate. davedawg, I had the SCW3 Supergrade for a while as I was planning to use it for my silver Springfield. I'm pretty sure the inner barrel is slightly extended into the compensator. Best to PM BigAl as thats who I sold it to and he might be able to double check for you. I know the barrel I have left over from my r-type Supergrade extends halfway into the compensator. And it didn't use a barrel bushing. The compensator had some lugs that fitted into corresponding spaces in the cone outer barrel. A sliding plastic sleeve then screwed over the compensator. This is the same on the SCW3 version. Mathub
Galco DMC mag carrier Galco Quick slide holster My brother has the exact same set up as the pic you posted. Galco concealable holster and galco DMC. PS : drawing the gun from the concealable (open bottom) is easier than from the quick slide. Edited June 5, 2007 by Mathub
Mathub
I also have a galco miami classic. A Don Hume gsr holster. Ant the one you should get :
hitmanNo2
Oooh, nice. I'm planning on getting a dual miami classic and a dual SOB similar to that. Might have to get a couple of drop legs depending on how secure they are whilst running. Plus, maybe a WWII chest holster if it doesn't get in the way of the left shoulder holster.
Mathub
A dual miamic classic is fine with tie downs. But that one would be better : incorporated tie downs, and mag carrier.
Slug Pellets
Very nice leather Mathub... and hitmanNo2 those are going to look very impressive . What are going to use as the donor guns? Few bits for me: J-Armory FBI: Going to be stripped as I want the furniture for my Micro Compact. And a Tommy Franks kit which I got a while ago at a good price: Really bad QC on this one; its going to take quite a bit of filing and polishing to get the slide and frame to get on with each other. Mathub
Well, guess I 'll have to buy one then. But before, I must get my hands on a scw3 para.
hitmanNo2
Is everything going to be able to swap over, or are you going to need parts off other guns to complete it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm going to get new mainspring housings (just because I dont want ones with integrated magwells), new triggers and new hammers, grips and full length guide rods. I'll also be using the steel barrel/chamber and sights that came with the kit. All cosmetic stuff really, but everything on the FBI should fit as far as i'm aware.
Husky
yea mathub the dual new york is awesome... i have one i got off ebay. the trick is a tight belt that fits the loops perfect. otherwise there is way too much play to draw properly.
