Lance Jackass
Have 226s allways had a rail?
JCYC5
Some don't have a rail. Seen pics of Navy SEALs (supposedly) with P226s without a rail...
Titleist
The majority of real P226s don't have rails, lots and lots of sigs were made without rails, the induction of rails on Sigs is something that only happened in the last few years. I've seen more pics of non-railed sigs in duty than I've seen of railed ones. It's operator choice or the spending restrictions of a unit that dictate what they get.
poorieuser
Its also a price thing too. Atleast when my dad was carrying a P226 as his service pistol he had a non railed one. The guys on the SWAT team with a bigger budget all had the railed ones. But that doesn't matter now since they've gone to the SIG Pro. Gods punishment to law enforcement. Titleist
Ugh, the SIG Pros suck, it's amazing how little the P226 has changed in thepast 20 years, why? Because it was such an awesome design from the begining.
jordan2139
Hey guys there are many metal kits but which one is the best? Quality? and price wise? I kinda like the G&P one. Anyone had experience with that one?
Milla
I hear the G&P one is pure ######. Ugly as hell and cheap. Get the PGC or Creation kit.
Batou-san
Oh ok, so if an upgrade of any sorts is cheap, its automatically unworthy? The GP metals are actually pretty nice for the low cost, have had no problems and work well.
Titleist
I think milla was refering to the quality of materials, not the cost.
jordan2139
Thanks guys, I'm looking into the PGC two tone one. Here I come Titleist!

Lithium Jack
Thanks guys, I'm looking into the PGC two tone one. Here I come Titleist! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Does anyone know if the version sold at redwolf is railed? The pictures say "nay," but the text says "yay,
Batou-san
Its Batou. You we're referring to quality of the GP metals? What do you base your statement on, hands-on knowledge or hearsay? Because as far as I've seen, on three different occasions, they've gone through a lot without failing.
Tommygunn
G&P's are cast with monkey metal and look as though they were carved with a butter knife. The more expensive models e.g. PGC, Creation etc are CNC'd from Aluminium alloy. You pay your money you get the above improvement in quality.

jordan2139
Does anyone know what silencer Jack Bauer uses? And any silencer you guys might recommend?
Lithium Jack
G&G SS-100 ? I don't think Jack uses a specific silencer.
Milla
Hmmm, no clue, i think just a regular old silecner Edited September 6, 2006 by Milla
trfo2o
i'll recommend anything under 6 inches because I had one of those KA AAC 9mm type suppressors and it was too long (6-7"?) weighed the outter barrel down causing some shots to hit the tip of the inside of the can. formvb
I received my TM P226 this morning and some parts. And I'm really desapointed by all the stuff. The overall cosmetic quality of the TM P266 is poor. Compared to a Japan KSC USPc, the finish is a shame. Don't even talk about the weight and the feel, they just cannot be conpared to the KSC. But, because it's a pictures thread... Here are some Some metal parts are not even black, they are redish, brownish things (hammer and frame metal insert) Seam lines are... ARE THERE. You cannot ignore them ! More over, there are some mold seams really visible. Like this one one the rear sight There's one on the hammer too. Conclusion : It's the worst handgun cosmetic finish I ever saw. This gun is neither the more expensive, nor the cheapest. But for the price, I'd like a better overall finish. In the parts I received, there's a guarder metal kit for the P266. But, it's an other story. Pics will follow...
Tommygunn
Totally agree with you there, it can't beat my KSC USPc or Mk23 for finish. Fortunately it's performance is top notch.
Titleist
form, it's still one of the best base guns for a skirmish pistol you can get these days, also no offense but telling us the gun has seam lines isn't exactly news.
