the worst

Cheap airsoft guns sold at stores like Walmart, and *rickroll*'s Sporting Goods.

Gives us such a horrible reputation as a dangerous, and non-responsible sport/hobby.

I've actually seen a group of kids, looking under 10, play right in the streets, infront of their houses, while cars drove past.

One idiot managed to shoot our car while my dad was driving by, with me inside also, so me and my dad gave them hell about it, and eventually got the parents of them to get them off the streets.

I swear, the parents are the real reason why the kids are being allowed to buy these guns, and let them loose with them in public.

The anti reversal latch in AEG gearboxes. Thanks to reading tips from this fourm, I eventually found out that a strong magnet does wonders to hold that SOB in.

The fact that AEG gearboxes need at least 3-4 hands to shove everything into place to close it shut.

The fact that they didn't engineer it to have all the parts just to fall into place and STAY THERE in AEG GBs. Come on, Japan, with all your reliable and innovative cars, you couldn't invent a toy gun gearbox to be easy to maintain or upgrade without it falling apart when trying to get it shut? How hard is it to invent captive triggers, anti reversal latches, and a mainspring guide holder in V2 gearboxes in the first place?

The fact that realistic, easy to repair and field strip GBB release funky, potentially deadly propane or 134a into the atmosphere

Plastic pistons in general: Hardened steel gears onto nylon teeth. Couldn't they design or think of another form of mechanical failsafe that doesn't require the destruction of a $20+ piston? If they can't, how about pistons with replaceable teeth so you don't burn $20 every time you get a $0.002 BB stuck in the barrel?

AEG trigger sets: Many amps of electricity flowing through a pair of cheap, just barely able to carry the load, copper contacts. Couldn't they just use a appropriately rated electrical switch in the design?

1- CA

2- G36 trigger spring set up, may of been because it was a CA but mine fell out more times than the anti reversal gimp

3- The escort fart grenade as described earlier (link to fail -->

)

4- Marui ignoring the world outside of Japan (even if its not a innovation it is terrible business sense)

5- Hicaps

6- New clones clocking out 500fps+

7- KA midcaps, broke 3 by putting them into the gun

8- Single shot 'shotguns' which get every accessory, metal part etc where you cant get jack for marui models

Agreed. I've never found Hi-caps and box mags to be too bad, although if everything was converted to mid-caps, the world would be a better place. (Including box mags. You could still fit A LOT of ammo in one, using a mid-cap style mechanism, which at least would mean the support gunners can still have their fun!)

Over limit clones are annoying, but more because people seem to buy them and then claim to be ignorant of the FPS when asked to get it chrono'd.

And I definitely agree with the lack of accessories for various different guns. I only hope with the influx of the ACM M3 copy that the aftermarket companies start producing parts again. Then again, it gives me an excuse to have a unique shotgun because I can be bothered to make stuff, so there's no rush!

What I really hate though is Newb-bashing. Everyone was one once, stop blaming them for everything. (Then again, there's always one who will refuse to learn to search, time and time again!)

Oh and people who use hideous grammar and spelling. No-one's perfect and I wouldn't once say that my grammar and spelling is perfect (or even close) but seriously, how do you expect anyone to show you any courtesy if 'u tlkz liake tiz'

Oh and another thing, respect peoples opinions. You may not always be right!!! (then again, I might be completely wrong!)

Rant over. "Back to the accounts"

Wings :detective2:

Not just boxmags, but hicaps in general (boooooo!!!) :P

That and those poorly designed hopup chambers which spit a number of BBs on each reload...

Agreed. Every time I buy a gun I sell the High Cap on EBAY same day. Yuck!!!! <_<

M16 one piece hop unit I've got 9 guns with hops based on that design and all of them have given me trouble at one time or another.

Cheap ACM tac gear especially holsters.

V3 triggers and switch blocks

+1 for that.

I like hicaps ,but the most pointless bit of kit has to be those things to wind up your hicaps

What, fingers? Personally I find fingers to be quite useful ;):P

the worst invention of airsoft, well, i'd say the worst thing to come out of airsoft, has to be those anti-hicap/boxmag geardo crybabies. (especially a few on these forums!) :P

seconded :)

Love this thread!

I very much dislikes:

Kids who show up at airsoft sites thinking they might be able to join the game because their parents are there and its the parents guns and then the parents starts to nag because "they drove all the way to the site".

Kids that hang out at airsoft stores.

Kids that buy cheap springers at some local supermarket or equal (I also hate cheap springers).

I could go on; so lets just say "airsoft-kids" in general.

Oh, and hi-caps.

I have to agree on G&P myself

Everyone in my team has owned a G&P and one point and they've all been lemons. The worse being the G&P M249 Ranger which cost my mate £700 and never worked till be put a new gearbox and motor in. Kept chewing pistons and bearings like they were going out of fashion.
