SLR 8" SBR build done. Just waiting for a few accessories (sling end plate, AAC Blast Shield, Cloud Defensive LCS, and an actual working ScoutLight head) and repairing my BTC Spectre, but otherwise al

One of my latest build, a real Colt M16A1 converted for GBBR on the WA system. Stripped upper, barrel and BCG was changed to Viper Tech du to my local laws. Also a video of how it was made:

Hey all! I kind of stumbled upon this thread by accident while searching for M16A2 receiver markings on google and saw one of Catgut's amazing VT's. Which brought me here I have been working on

Thanks mate! :D

Quality is very nice. Very easy to instal, you may only need a wrench to tighten the barrel nut. DYTAC even provides a small bag of barrel nut washers (6 or 8). There is almost no need to align the rail for it aligns by itself, as opposed to the URX3 for which you had to (or at least it was recommended to) align the rail with the upper by using a mount clamping on the two.

On the MK4 you can even mount the rail covers made for the URX3, you just need to find something to hold them in place.

Great looking setup Ivan.  I'd never run a gun like that personally in a million years because I'd despise the ergonomics, but as something to look at in the form of internet pictures it's brilliant.

Mind enlightening me on the background/setup used for the shots of the Dragon brake?  Those are some extremely good looking close-ups.

Thanks CK. :)

I need to improve the ergonomics, it is only a temporary configuration.

As for the Dragon brake, I used a 100mm 2,8 macro (exifs are: 100mm, F4, 0EV, 1/2, iso 280, focus on the brake itself) lenses and the background was my Condor Softshell (provides a mat background). I placed the gun in order to have the brake at a few centimeters above the background so I would have a nice depth.

SF CQBRs use the LA-5/PEQ pretty much exclusively now, and the only replica is a cheap battery box made by FMA. I installed a green laser in mine and touched it up with paint, specifically a lighter tan sprayed on the battery cap and light bezel (they're supposed to be aluminium) and amber model car turn signal paint on the post for the laser filter cap.
