hey Ktcerberus did you get the flip up scope covers from here (http://www.kitterytradingpost.com/product.php/pid/103/sid/649/prodid/6862) how do you tell which size to get? I want to put them on a Tasco 6-24x50

I bought mine from a sporting goods store. for a tasco 3-9x40mm scope you need 19 eye, and 27 obj covers. Idon't know what size you need but if you have a micrometer you can measure your scope and use the sizing chart to pick the right covers.

Yeah, thats one thing i was never really happy about. The "tan" that G&P uses for alot of their parts is way too light. Its like a cream colored tan, not really a flat dark earth like the magpul rail covers.

It looks alot better in different lighting.

Either alot of people pay WAAAAY too much for their guns or overestimate their value! But you guys are right, a 1000usd just doesn't buy you as much as it used to. Especially with the current EUR = USD conversion rate of around 1 = 1,47 :D

let me double check my calculations then :)

External Parts:

CA M15 convertible barrel- $80

Aimpoint w/high mount- $85

G&P Z-Type Aimpoint Mount- $55

King Arms CASV- $170

STAR TAC grip- $35

UTG Black Vertical Grip- $20

Beamshot 1000 laser BK- $60

Hurricane Knight's SR-16 MBK- $190

CA M15 Crane Stock Tan- $105

G&P KAC Sniper Trigger Guard- $15

STAR QD Rear Sight- $30

CA M4 reinforced body pins- $15

Total: $860

all parts were paid for at AEX and I got the CASV at Evike.

prices do not include tax and the labor charges to convert my TM RIS w/ PEQ to a crane battery (cutting the body, modifications, etc)

hmm it seems that you are right. the externals alone did not exceed the $1000 mark (but it was close!)

however, the base gun TM M4 RIS ($310) + intellect 9.6v 3600mah batt ($68) + labor for conversion + external parts ($860) well exceeds the 1k mark! ;)

HKM4D-SD Interceptor:

hkm4dsdinterceptorvc9.jpg

This is my old trusty tool for most scenarios. Below is the shopping list and prices from WGCshop and RedWolfAirsoft. Unless the part is mentioned in the list, it originates from the base gun or is included in a set:

Base gun

TM SR-16: 272$

------------------

sub total: 272$

External parts

HurricanE HKM4D receiver: 212.50$

HurricanE HK m4 sights: 84$

G&P stock: 36.50$

G&P rail covers: 17$

VFC Tac grip: 15.50$

G&G Sling swivel: 21.50$

Laylax/First Factory Dark knights SD adapter: 32$

Laylax/First Factory slip ring: 37$

KSC TMP silencer: 60$

Custom made tread adapter for silencer: priceless

Magpul trigger guard: 26$

HurricanE grip: 34$

Systema grip end: 19.20$

PDI chamber block: 40$

------------------------

sub total: 635.20$

Internal

Systema gear box shell: 54$

Systema switch block: 32$

Systema gears: 61.20$

Kanzen ceramic ball bearings: 35$

Laylax/Prometheus anti reversal latch: 12$

Systema spring guide: 15.50$

Systema spring: 15.50$

Systema spring set: 4.50$

Laylax/Prometheus cylinder head: 20$

Laylax/Prometheus cylinder: 20.50$

Laylax/Prometheus selector plate: 11.50$

Guarder tappet plate: 10$

Deep Fire piston: 14.50$

Systema piston head: 18$

Systema nozzle: 10.50$

Madbull hop-up rubber: 8$

Madbull tight bore: 34.99$

Systema hop-up unit: 30$

Laylax/Prometheus motor connectors: 7$

MP-Jet 3.5mm connectors: 4$

Laylax/Prometheus wires: 11.50$

-----------------

sub total: 430.19$

Others

Battery: 58.99$

EO-Tech: 450$

------------------

sub total: 508.99

--------------------------

Base gun: 272$

Externals: 635.20$

Internals: 430.19$

Others: 508.99$

--------------------------

Grand total: 1846.38$

--------------------------

On top of this is all the magazines and ranger plates:

1 x TM std mag: free bee

4 x Magpul PTS: 120$

6 x KA: 72$

2 x MAG: 17.5$

7 x Ranger plates: 87.5$

-------------

sub total: 297$

So all in all I have spent 2146.38$ on this gun and its acsseorys. But if be leave out optics, batteries and magazines we end up with a price tag of 1337.39$ alone in parts. Add to this shipping, 3.4% customs fee and 25% VAT, along with countless hours of mechanic work and parts spends to research the setup I have found works best for me... I should just have started out with a PTW MAX, it would have been cheaper. But then again, the PTW did not exist when I started this build 5 or 6 years ago.

Where did you get them kanzen bearing from? Did you have to do any custom work to your GB shell or your bearings to get them to fit? Do they fit 6mm gearbox shell? I am VERY intersted!

And Just so this isn't spam, my marui SR-16 with only internals and the gun, and some externals (nowhere near finished) totalls over $1300 without optics mags shipping, tax, batteries, etc. I expect to put at least another $400 into it, at the very minimum... Although I am contemplating ditching the G&P front end I have and getting a KAC URX 2 but i don't know if it would fit, and what special tools and knowledge I need to install it... So if anybody knows please tell me

I got the bearing of the kanzen-bearings.com web site. But it have been down for a long time now so I'm not sure where to get them now, if the company only do whole sale now or if the company have closed down. Anyway, the bearings was a drop in replacement for the systema 7mm bearings that came with the gearbox shell.
