Mathub
Sorry guys, I made some shots, and didn't pay attention to the SVI not being a 1911.
davedawg123
His trigger is on my ultra cdp2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I figured as much. Beautiful piece BTW. And I notice that the front sight isn't on TMII. Good luck getting that in. It took me forever.

Mathub
I put the front sights on both my gsr and team match in less than 30mn. The more prime kits you have, the quicker you get.

uscmCorps
my new Kimber 1911 MCSOCOM (or DET-1) pistol <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Those Strider/Buck SMFs are surprisingly good for $50 aren't they? Mine is my day to day carry knife. Plus at that price, if I lost it I wouldn't be too bumed. Mathub, beautiful GSR Dude!
hardboiledcop
man alive mathub, your full metal 1911's must be past the 25 mark now surely..?

davedawg123
After the first GSR, I was thinking it needs a full recoil rod. Lo and behold you go ahead and do that, and stainless/silver no less! Beautiful!
Mathub
A "clin d'oeil" to Lithium Jack. I'm a frog and I got a 1911, let's take a pic.
rhyyke
damn those are beautiful GSRs mathub. is the black one a metal kit too?
r.ocelot
Might just be me, but is the finger groove on the silver kit steeper than the black kit's?
Mathub
Both kit are exactly the same. It may be the view angle. And, yes both are metal.

hardboiledcop
Hi guys, just got my V10 back from Mobius Strip, fully working and fantastically accurate but I have a slight quandry for you guys.. What would cause a gun to work fully on 134a without any issues, but when using propane, fire every single shot but one, usually the first shot. for some reason on one shot, every single magazine, the hammer drops and does nothing. The rest of the shots fire perfectly and with a massive kick.. hammer spring perhaps? or something else entirely..? ta. Edited May 12, 2007 by hardboiledcop
Senor Bear
I would take an educated guess at the hammer spring isn't strong enough to open up the mag valve.
hardboiledcop
that was my first guess, but surely that would cause it to happen on all/many of the shots, not just one..
Mathub
I'm sure it's the hammer spring. Just use a stock full size one, remove some coils, and try it.
hardboiledcop
the only spare I have atm is a KA enhanced full size spring.. edit - well I just noticed that, since Mobius replaced the blowback housing with that of a full size 1911 (ie comes with the faux firing pin on the back which fits through the hole in the rear of the slide) the pin actually didnt sit flush, it stuck out about 1mil, I have since filed it down so it only sticks out a tiny bit.. after firing a full magazine on green it didnt misfire once.. hopefully that's fixed it.. Mathub
Well, reminds me of the same issue with a wilson tactical supergrade compact. The rear of the breach was covered with a metal plate with prevent the hammer from fully stricking the firing pin (SCW1). Issue was the same with metal slide, has to cut in the rear of the slide. And that slide was a ...... Shooters Design.
gazamanu
Mathub, that gun is sick in the face!
hardboiledcop
shock horror bloody SD and their shoddy workmanship.. edit - just fired it some more, awesomesauce doesn't even begin to explain the joy of shooting this beast, accurate to at least 25 yards (the length of my garden ) too.
