hitmanNo2 Posted May 13, 2006 Report Share Posted May 13, 2006 Lets face it, the 5-7 isn't the most aesthetically pleasing pistol to look at. I know I wouldn't choose one over an M92 or a 1911 if I was a movie character. Also its a pretty specialist gun i.e. made for piercing armour, so unless its unique cababilities were needed in a film like a Splinter Cell adaptation, I doubt it would get used. Adding to this, its still pretty restricted isn't it? so I doubt many studios would have access to them. Link to post Share on other sites

WA's product always made to very close to the real thing i.e. they spent quite alot on logo/trades. since they already have beretta's trade, then it make sense to make the new m9a1. it will cost quite alot more for wa to get HK, Glock etc gun series started. Then again, WA has done some "Marui" business in the past too, by releasing their "Kimbers" with fake lookalike trades. But of course, producing endless variations from already machined components, á la 1911, is probably lucrative business. I think lots of Japanese manufacturers also have fairly limited factory space and many have only one production line to use at the time. Why spend expensive production time for guns which don´t make enough profit in return? I´ve always wondered why WA has not made a (now discontinued) Colt Double Eagle GBB. They have rights to use Colt trades, Double Eagle shares 1911 slide and magazine, requiring just a reworked frame with DA trigger mech. And that would be different gun enough to stand out from standard 1911/2011/Beretta crowd. Hey, Marui has done a ridiculously-out-of-proportions springer version of it (which KWC has cloned)!
