realsteel
http://airsoft-news.eu/news.php "Tokyo Marui's webpage is updated with the section, dedicated to GBB replica of Detonics .45 Combat Master. They adopted so called "D-Type piston cup" which enhances recoil. Also, magazine is single stack, which explains rather low capacity (18+1)." RSP1
To me, 18 rounds seems like great capacity for a single stack mag that's that short!

my_plague_666
no way the mag is single stack. you cant get 18 rounds in a full length 1911 single stacker.

Arr0wana
Maybe if we're lucky smaller gun means smaller price... Actually, I think I'd be tempted to save up for it even if it is a normal price.

Cheers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You think ChrisNorthInger looks better the more you look at him? I don't know, I can see how you'd hate the look of the thing, and I probably won't be buying one. But they do have a certain little appeal to them.

Hustie
Hmmm, if I had more money I would surely pick one up. I really don't know why but it looks pretty cool to me, except for the rear sight that is...
SigPro552
except for the rear sight that is... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good call, that rear sight is absurdly far forward on the slide.
AliceHKfan
the original design probably assumed that since it was for CCW that if the sight radius was closer it would translate into faster line up time thus making the user response time faster. (although in the long run less accurate in longer distances) personally I like things like the Colt Defender a bit more (I think the barrel length is a tiny bit longer yet a similarly sized package from what I can tell)
Ledpocket
I'm looking forward to this. Hopefully it means more kimber micro kits
davedawg123
Sweet. So what kind of metal kits (from RS counterparts that have the same barrel length) do you all think we can expect?
AliceHKfan
I'm looking forward to this. Hopefully it means more kimber micro kits <{POST_SNAPBACK}> that'd be cool =3 I'm still hopeful on Prime or PGC's(?) Kimber Eclipse Custom II kit not that I could afford it let alone the donor gun
Dodger1911
regarding the rear sights being too far forward....Detonics puts the rear sights forward because they there is a cut out on the frame behind the sights. The reason for the frame being dished out behind the rear sight is to facilitate hammer down carry and thumb cocking the first shot. What is referred to as Condition 2 Carry. Condition 1 Carry.....full magazine, empty chamber, hammer down. Condition 2 Carry.....full magazine, round in chamber, hammer down. Condition 3 Carry.....full magazine, round chambered, hammer cocked and locked. It' just a funky design unique to Detonics, the guy who designed it back in the late 70s early 80s prefered Condition 2 Carry.
felix4536
i see they decided to go with a bull barrel for the detonics. i think barrels with bushings look better.
ardrummer292
Now, when they release their MEU, I will get reallllly excited. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Either that, or a Dessie Warrior, and I'm set.
