MODDAN
That there AR-57 looks stunning! Any possibility of a guide or photo documentation? I would really like to make one of my own, especially if it feeds from the mag on top.
screwdriver
more photos as requested. Â basically started out as a dboys spr, top rail and ejection port cover removed, rear body built up using aluminium and body filler. fake bolt fitted and mag latch manufactured, mag released by pulling knurled bolt at rear. hop wise its the m4 hop inverted and fitted with a fixed nub , the silver tube behind the hop operates the bb catch on the p90 mag. the battery fits in a cut out in the lower ris and covered by the rail cover Edited July 8, 2011 by screwdriver

PureSilver
Is it still going into production with unnamed-airsoft-company?
renegadecow
Hopefully yes. I'm currently waiting for legal paperwork plus the first payment with which I'll need to hire somebody to translate the design to CAD.
wolfgeorge
Man that's awesome... Great job hope the best the paparwork... Â Â Wolf
PureSilver
Do you not use CAD? Or is it a question of generating parts capable of easy manufacture?
renegadecow
Good old paper and pencil works for me. It's just that they'd rather have CAD themselves which they have to modify into the production model, as you say easier for them to make.
Jibbity
Amazing work all around renegadecow. I just went through this thread for the first time today and your projects are pretty incredible.
TheFull9
How many rounds have you put through it since you finished the build RC? Be interested to hear about the reliability of the bolt system that lifts the shells, plus the extractor and ejector. Any brands/types of shell proven too light/heavy or too far out of spec in terms of the actual calibre/diameter?
WhiteHawksan
*fruitcage* it Kinnerly, I'm buying one regardless. Edited June 22, 2012 by WhiteHawksan
TheFull9
Far be it from me to suggest that anybody doesn't buy one once they hit retailers, merely curious. It's not exactly a low-impact mechanism, especially considering it's an airsoft weapon, so I was just wondering how the build was performing given that it was completed a while ago now and has probably seen quite a substantial amount of testing through use. Â My comment was made in jest, but I remember the prototype having problems with heavier shells. Perhaps POM shells would be better?
TheFull9
Oh yeah mate I knew you were joking. If it comes across as me doubting the good-functionality of RCs' weapon (wahey) that's not the intention, I've seen his video demonstration and it clearly does work very well, just interested to hear his experiences since that time with different shells etc.
