I gotta admit, I think Ive realised that the thing that annoys me most about Firefox is all the fanbois. It's not so much the fanboi-ism it's just that you are leveling complaints that can be fixed in about the time it takes to complain about them. If you can't be bothered learning to use the software and something else fits your needs better out of the box than by all means use it. The basic point is use anything you like as long as it isn't IE.
Azubi
I'm quite liking this Opera. It has most of the features I enjoyed from IE7, the Turbo feature is much like Onspeed and the speed dial window is also rather handy. Only thing I miss is setting up multiple tabs to open on startup so you basically have 4-5 homepages as opposed to 1. If this does exist on Opera, I haven't managed to find it yet. Tinkerton
as far as i'm aware you can turn off the most viewed thing on chrome. failing that, you can easily delete the big icons on the screen. Chrome all the way for desktop PCs. Currently using Steel on my android phone though, thats lovely!
happy.al
I’m glad I’m not the only one who is looking around at the different browsers. He’s my take on them. I currently use Firefox, but to be honest I like it less and less. When I first starting using it, it was lightening fast, it was really impressive. Now it’s seems to be slower than IE. I still like the general layout but it’s not that much difference than IE these days. IE – I have IE8 installed and I quite like it, it’s definitely faster than IE7. I like some of the new features, like colour coded tabs, and the new search functions. But it’s the speed increase which is a big plus for me. Opera – I use Opera sometimes, it’s really quick and that’s great. I’m not use to the way it looks yet, I’m slowly getting there and I will probably either use this or IE instead of Firefox in the near future. Chrome – Don’t like, it crashed for me and to be honest I’ve not really given it much more of a chance. I don’t like how Google is getting involved in everything, or just buying their competition. There’s something about “friendly” Google which puts me off the, Safari – Like all Apple products I find it all show and no go. It just doesn’t do what I want it to do, and being an Apple product I have it use it as they tell me or not at all. Also I don’t like how they force it onto your computer when you install iTunes, I consider it spyware.
Moriquende
Itunes does not come with Safari. Atleast it didn't when I downloaded it yesterday. *Edit* 'Rite, fixed

Zackansfien
Call me a Firefox fan boy all you want. Ive used it since Phoenix, simply because I wanted to get away from using IE which was, and to be brutally honest still is slow and unresponsive. And with constant updates and far less holes in Firefox compared to IE. A great "Bug Bounty" program that encourages people to find the big holes in Firefox and fix them fast with good constant updates. Compared to what Firefox used to be, it has come along in leaps and bounds, and continues to do it. =D I suppose it depends what you want. Plug and play, youve got IE, but id recommend using anything other than it. Safari really isnt that bad, even if it engine is shockingly slow. Netscape, how I miss using that. Walked all over safari. (And was a rewritten version of Firefox would you believe ) Chrome, ill be honest im not a massive fan off. Maybe because its still a new program, and hasnt had chance to fully open its wings and show us what googles engine can do. Or maybe...its because its just not Firefox, but I dont know
happy.al
I know it's out of date, and I'm sure Apple doesn't do it anymore but it's always stuck in my mind. http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/907..._iTunes_updater
Apex
Damn FF keeps buggin me had many updates since 3.0 now is like 3.5.2 i think and still have same problems (it opens new browser windows randomly i like to keep them in tabs but it keeps shooting them in new windows without asking me first ) Sounds like the tab settings need changing. al, has for the slowness i have noticed this but only on a install that i put a custom skin + plugins on. If i left it stock then it works just has fast has it did the day i installed it. Could be worth saving the book marks, uninstall ff and delete the cache folder and install again with a fesh profile. Mines bog standard, and installed on more than 1 computer, some brand new computers and netbooks. To be honest I think that IE has just caught up in the speed game, going between IE and Firefox I would honestly say that Firefox is slower. Having said that I'm still typing this from Firefox. For speed I think that Opera is easily the fastest web client out there.
Azulsky
Trying out the Chrome 4.0 Beta right now, zippier than anything else i have tried and despite Firefox 3.5 being super lightweight i usually dont have a bunch of things running simultaneously when web browsing and the speed is worth it to me, wish they would include a client for Gmail when its their own browser... GuzziHero
For me, Maxthon is like everything I ever wanted IE to be. And yes, I cruise some anime sites, some hentai. I dont really want my sister to be visiting and seeing that stuff on the browser
Horsem4n
i switched from firefox to chrome for 2 reasons. 1) firefox was getting really slow on me and crashed contently in the previous month to me getting rid of it. 2) it was doing things behind my back. i only know of one thing specifically though. i installed 3.5 and then a few days later, i find that it switched itself back to 3.0. O.o 2 things i miss about it is the Cooliris plugin and developer tools.
my_plague_666
And yes, I cruise some anime sites, some hentai. I dont really want my sister to be visiting and seeing that stuff on the browser well, IE8 has private windows and chrome has incognito. and chrome>IE last time i used firefox there was no such feature, same for safari (cant comment on opera, but i doubt i'll be trying it as chrome currently does everything i want it to)

Stealthbomber
I was using Chrome for a while, just for a change. I was really starting to like it too. Surprised nobody here has yet mentioned the famous "Resolving host" issue with it though. A google search for "Chrome resolving host" will reveal that there's a well-known issue where Chrome tries to be a smart-*albatross* and cache DNS settings with the result that, if your IP changes, Chrome will just sit there gurgling until it times-out and tells you the page can't be found. BT are currently working in my town and, as a result, the internet is on and off randomly. To be fair, it's only ever off for a few seconds at a time but this is enough to blow Chrome's tiny mind and, as a result, I'm going to have to get rid of it before I smash up my PC or murder some poor unfortunate BT worker. Seriously, the whole "Resolving Host" thing seems to be a huge gaping flaw in Chrome which can make it almost unusable.
Plankton
I've been using chrome since the begging of the year, only had it crash seriously on me once, I had to reinstall the browser which is not a big deal. Really fast, not cluttered and handles bookmarks really well. Thats my reccomendation.
