Bloodred
Maruzen APS-2 SV, bought from a guy on another forum, who bought it from flint here on Arnie's, who got it on eBay from another guy who got it somewhere else. I think I'm owner #4, but 2 of the 4 only used it once or twice, and I ended up getting it a lot cheaper than 1K since it's used. But this was probably around $1000 total new... Maruzen APS-2 SV $265 Mojji Hornet II scope $238 Zero trigger $130 First Factory PSS2 reciever $135 Maruzen Bipod $61 That's not even factoring in internal upgrades, and that's up to $830, so I'm sure this is worth over 1k. LeMongelo
I followed this thread right from the beginning... So I read page 1 ages ago, hence forgetting wht's there.. . I mean you are replying to a post 6 pages before this one, a quote would be nice.. oh and I love Mongelo's E2 so I will protect them from you with my M1a scout....even thou that it hasn't got a pistol grip.... Also, LeMongelo: Is the stock walnut or birch? how is the UnCo M14? Does it perform well?accurate? How many shots can you get with one gas charge? and where is the gas stored? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I personally prefer shooting with a pistol grip. I know in airsoft it seems to make no difference, but it's just a personal preference. I just can't shoot correctly with a rifle stock. If you notice more and more sharp shooter are ditching rifle stocks for pistol grips. The stock is walnut. It seemed like an intact birch, although cheaper in price, was harder to find. Most were split right down the receiver down toward the stock since I was told it could not withstand the force of full automatic fire. An intact brich seems just as rare as an intact walnut set. I really like the fact that it has a "USMC" cartouche in the right face along with the "DOD" on the left. The UnCo 14 is nice. I've had it for about exactly one year now and put well above a 1000 rounds through it (although I do put much more attention to it than my other gbbs). No sign of leaks and the valve seems to be tight. The mechanism in the rifle itself is very simple and suprisingly does not have that many parts (even simpler than gbb pistols since there's just so much room in the reciever). The blowback action very nice and it makes a rather distinct sound when the bolt hits the reciever. The gas is in the magazine; one chrage fires about maybe 50 bbs (the mag only holds 20). I would personally never take it to a game since it is 1) very heavy (about the same as my E4) 2) no extra mags and 3) I'm too out of shape to play war. I'm sure this will ###### many people off but I just enjoy shooting targets in the back yard. I don't like the fact that the bolt catch was fake. I'm trying to get it so the bolt will catch when the last shot is fired. Also a hop-up would be nice; I would think one can easily put one in. I also noticed the selector swtich is reversed. On semi it goes auto and on auto it goes semi. The dimensions are not quite real steel as advertised. There are small parts that I had to modify to put it together. Also, the outer barrel is kinda crappy and looks very fake compared to an M1A. Extra mags will be nice... Hope this helps.
LeMongelo
thanks, I too prefer a pistol grip rifle...but there isn't one yet for my marui m14 and finding/importing/modding a real E2 would be really hard... So the UnCo M14 seem like a really good collector item.. too bad I couldn't afford one.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, it's just a collector's item...fun to shoot though. I too bought a Marui M14 with the hopes of fitting it with an M2A (my M1A is currently sporting one). Unfortunately, the way the motor angles into the gearbox needs to be changed drastically. If someone does come out with a DMR conversion kit, or manages to fit one to the Marui, it will be really interesting to see how they deal with the motor. Maybe the Star SWS is a better base for the mod? You have both right, are the two gear boxes very different? Can an M2A be fitted on the Star? Also, there is a heavy metal rod passing right through the pistol grip on the E2. Anyhow, just a few observations...
DanHS
Wow, a lot of really nice guns. Imo, spending over $500 is kinda a waste on an airgun that shoots plastic bbs, when for that price you could buy a real gun similar to the airsoft replica, but it sure does make for some very nice pieces. It's cool that you can make something that refined and special, even if a large part of it is throwing money at it That said, I am guilty of spending over $500, but not up to $1000 yet. I have about $700 in my Sun Project M40A1, it might make it up to $1000 after a few more mods and a better scope, then I'll post it all up on here and show off. lol. But that's a while coming though still, spending a lot on school and cars right now... In the future I plan to build a totally custom aeg and a nice gas AR if I can ever get/afford them. Keep up the good work on the cool guns!
