spb
Is that a real steel AK? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope, it's a Trapper Industries SVD folding stock attached to a AK-47 receiver
LeeC
spot on spb its fitted to a metal body its also had a barrel chop - not my work i just mashed it up to make it look 'real' - where the hell would i get a real one
thegunrunner
Finally, time to build the M-70. Just blue and weathered the grenade launcher, rust is intentional.
hsimoorb
Wrong, Ak-47's have milled receivers.. AKM's have stamped receivers. I was considering AKMs to be AK-47s in the same respect that M16A2s are still M16s.
LtDeathSauce
These are some beautiful AK's guys. Makes me almost wish I wasn't an Armawhore. but seriously, the whole reason we (well, I) play airsoft is because it ISNT firearms.
LeeC
but seriously, the whole reason we (well, I) play airsoft is because it ISNT firearms. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Each to their own I suppose. I'm more interested in creating something that looks as real as possible particularly as there is no way I can own a real one in the UK it also fits in with my Afgan SF loadout nicely
Yeager
but seriously, the whole reason we (well, I) play airsoft is because it ISNT firearms. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Speak for yourself, I collect what I can't get in "real steel" form.. Edit: Guarder 04 AKM kit with econo furniture, still got the wood stuff packed away.. Edited December 18, 2006 by Yeager
thegunrunner
Finally got some G&P midcaps, rifle has G&P, SU has VFC. Here's a comparison. Edited December 24, 2006 by thegunrunner
Marine47
Beautiful stocks on those AK's...the first one looks really long to me, how big are they compared at m16's?

Cyber Soldier
Ok here's my TM AK47 with my new Guarder AKM Kit fitted. Reciever Detail AK74 Date stamp I'm torn about my next purchase for it. Gaurder blowback unit or the G&P GP25 grenade launcher?
FW200
Not an Ak-74 just because you stick another mag in it Though there was a single prototype which was basicly an AKM converted to 5.45.. Next purchase, definatly a GP25.. the blowback unit is just a gimmick which has a tendency to fail
Cyber Soldier
Funny you should say that because a buddy of mine (who worked for Izhmash) told me that most of the first run of AK74s were converted AKMs. Otherwise, the GP25 is what I thought I should get first, thanks for the confirmation Edited December 27, 2006 by Cyber Soldier
PlasticMag
The only problem is the gas chamber - in real life it had a tendency to shred bullets, hence the refined one seen on current AK74s.
renegadecow
Happy New Year! I just finished making my PKM kit. Base gun is an AK (slr105) so it counts on this thread. Zounds! The feed tray comes up like the real thing! Removable box mag. Made out of PVC.

[BS]_MARS
I like the effort you put into it and I am sure that it's a great accomplishment of yours but it doesn't overall look like a PKM. Great reversed site. I'll give you a plus one for it.
Docv400
Not mine, I built the long one for a friend, 650mm PSG tightbore (into silencer), Guarder wood kit, Systema FTK in reinforced g/box, systema hi-torque motor + gears. Bottom one is standard 'S' with paintjob on plastic grips and stock removed. Edit; By the way, nice work Renegade. I particularly like the stock. The standard stock is the one thing I dislike about the AK variants, always looks way out of proportion to me Edited December 31, 2006 by Docv400
