That's easy to work out: H is for men whilst L is women and little girls.

I do want, but can't justify it atm.

lol no it has alot to do with

the vest u use

the mags u have allready

the mags ur teamate has

i beleve the scar l is more practical (223 is not a little girl round)

why would u want replica 7.62 round if u will never have that kinda range in airsoft?

Hold on, I think I have some more bait for you...

It comes down to your personal preference, and as you said, situation. My kit is set up for 7.62 (G3 ftw), and while my mags aren't cross compatible, the rigging is.

As for what "mags ur teamate has", I've never been so low on ammo that I've had to blag a mag.

And personally, I just don't like the 5.56 magazines.

The mags are a bit of a drag. As it stands I can swap mags & pouches between my 416 and my 16 without headaches. No doubt there's a huge hole in my life that only a 7.62x51 will fill but without magazines it's not going to happen.

It looks like there's lots of 17s in pictures with Rangers so that will hopefully translate into lots of other folks starting to build low and mid cap magazines.

Right now though since they both throw 6mm arguing that one is better based on caliber is verging on a purse fight. Save it for the SEAL thread.

Well, I tried the grippod but really didn't care for it. The grippod is built like a tank but I wanted something with some cant and swivel so I finally bit the bullet and picked up a Tango Down advanced combat bipod.

Immediately I found I needed to modify the 249 to get it to be 100 functional so I removed the pintle as well as the little bar that is parallel with the pintle mount. I messed around with the placement of the bipod and found it worked best when in reversed it which allowed me to deploy the bipod much faster and keep my height adjustment. I also found the natural pivot point to be closer to the center of the gun giving me better sweeping shots.

Here is what I came up with:

I Placed my TangoDown grip at the front of the rail, but I think either way works well. I set it up the way I did per the request of the SAW gunner on the team who wanted to keep the TangoDown Bipod stowed until needed and the KAC grip was a must.

When your bipod is folded up, how do you hold the front end? Do you grip the stowed bipod?

It looks like that bipod might flip forward. If that's the case then you'd still have the vert grip clear.

Mine flips backwards, his goes forwards. But the cool thing about the TangoDown Bipod is that it's wide enough to sit around the VFG. bigc3031's bottom rail is designed shorter so his doesn't have as much room to accommodate both a TD Bipod and a VFG. He has space behind the bipod to install the VFG, but that'd make it hang right in front of the box mag making it almost unusable. Which was why I was curious how he handles the front end. Though using the folded bipod as a handguard may not be horrible at all.

His bipod folds back not forward in that configuration.

Corps-what is the flash hider you are rocking on your SAW?

TBH, I'm not sure. It's whatever came with my G&P Mk46:

Thanks for the link. My bipod works great folded up but I prefer to keep it deployed, I spend a lot of time proned out with the SAW as I want to keep as true to a support gunner as possible. If I want to run and gun I will just break out the PTW.

Got a question...

I have a VFC scar L in black wich I'll sell to buy me a VFC scar H in FDE.

Problem is... I'm not sure to buy me a L or H.

So, are the L lower receivers compatible with a H upper / barrel unit ?

If not, what parts ( fieldstripped modules ) are interchangeble?

I know the lowers are different ( no, really? lol ) but I *Think* the barrel/handgrip is different too.

Could anyone with a VFC H and L version of the scar shed a light on this? :)

It'd be a marvelous modular system to just buy the L parts when I have a H.

thank you!

I think the receiver swap is no go, too bad though as I kind of had a similar plan. Here' a whole wad of reference pics, but these are real steel ones so if you're looking for airsoft pics do not go here.

I am particularly interested in the flash photo's that show the distinct colour changes beteen the uppers and lowers and other FDE hardware. Something that some brands here have been vilified for.

A&K M249

Railed Top Cover

Strike Systems Acog-wannabe (pretty sweet scope actually, illumination helps in dark conditions a lot, magnification is on the spot for airsoft, just the eye relief is a tad crappy)

G&P copy RIS

Realsteel 100rds Cloth Mag with A&K Mag Internals

Madbull v2 Precision Barrel

Dummy Rounds

I'm gonna keep the internals stock till something breaks down

You just made my SA58 cry!!!! Shame on you!

Bad fiddlesticks!!!!

:D:D:D

As for the mag compatibility.....for me its enough reason to go with the SCAR Light.

Take a hint from a guy whose AEG dont have midcaps available and once in a while regrets his choice of weapon, untill the midcaps are released. :(

Cheers!!!!!
