joeking27
So what is the difference between a 1911 and a 2011? Is it just a double stacked mag and an exposed guide rod?
clmwrx
Double stack is part of what designates it. Nice infinity man. You guys make me miss mine Must resist buying hi capa!
hippiehater44
fixxer: duel hi capas very nice!
M1911A2 guy
2011 handguns utilize internal sear spring housings, stronger recoil springs for faster shooting, double stack magazines which relates into larger frames, often come with larger mag wells(nowadays at least), a different recoil spring housing because of the increased strength spring, slightly different trigger mech designs for reliable lighter trigger pull, and a longer recoil spring guide rod for faster fire. Basically a modern day fancy comp pistola, with the likes of SV Infinities and STi 2011/Eagle handguns. Like a 1911 variant that is commonly called a 2011: And a real 2011 pistol: The bottom pistol looks like a double stacker 1911, but includes all of the mentioned aboved with a short frame design like 1911s. The most common 2011s are these: Hope that helped, please feel free to ask any questions.
bernie3674
Before After EDIT: today is Thanksgiving Day, and I just finished my polishing job, now I have few people to say Thanks to: First off, my mom and dad, they helped me found a nice summer job, that's why I have money for what I have today. bernie3674
Important note: after u finish polish it, please spray it with poly protection paint(or something like that, I have no idea what is the real name of it), or it will fade to black or yellow, and it won't be always like this:
SgtBojangles
I feel like a complete knob when saying this, but: I added you to my friends list. I'm EMS. Wow... To be on topic - I don't know if I like that Capa, Bernie. It looks a bit bland... Edited November 25, 2005 by SgtBojangles
bernie3674
by the way, the slide is 2-tone, so the upper part is still black
Tunershark
What grit sandpaper did you use, the front of it looks a little scratched up, like you used some really rough paper go to a hardware store and fine the finest grit you can find and go over it a few times with that, that should make it look alot better
clmwrx
tunershark you knob. You have to work up to finer grits. say when I polished my outerbarrel I did 330 400 600 800 1000 1500 the 2000 If you go from 400 to 1000 you cant get all of the large scratches out

clmwrx
where did you get the compensator? I am planning on building another infinity possibly.
M1911A2 guy
I thought the compensator came with one of the early SCW limited edition guns? Infinity Comp Special maybe? Correct me if I'm wrong, which I most likely am, haha.
Fixxxer
You can buy that compensator of WGC seperatly as well. Its not cheap though.
snowman
Yep, that is a hot 2011 race gun. I've dreams of turning my Wilson Combat Hi-Cap into a iron-sight version of that. The big problem is getting all the compensator gear together, it adds up alarmingly if you buy aftermarket stuff! Cheers Edited November 27, 2005 by snowman

joeking27
Anyone got the STRIKE front kit on a hi capa?
screamin_weasel
these guns would almost be attractive to me if it wasn't for that butt-ugly lump sticking out the bottom of the grip. still, i think the hi-capa is the best base for custom modding, and it seems from this thread im right.
