WMH
Escort has aquired the previously defunct Youth Engineering MP5 lineup, and they have finished the prototype of the new Escort MP5. It uses Marui MP5 mags and has been upgraded and updated. Very limited production as the die for the beautiful YE metal body has been lost. sp00n
Wow, if they actually improved the YE design this will be a seriously impressive weapon. Wish I could afford one
systema
Is it a copy then? I'm very interested.
Sale
A copy? That would be like saying Armalites are copies of Colt rifles. The old YE has a very good mechanism as is. The main drawbacks were the hop up and magazines. The latter were pretty hard to come by (although SniperX seems to have found a source and is selling them), but I don't like how they function. This new version takes AEG magazines and has an improved hop up among other things. I'd buy this in an instant if I already wouldn't have the old one which I'm working on. Guess what I'm trying to do? You got it - improve hop up and make it take AEG magasines. -Sale

IronWolf
Could this be an indication that they may produce a new line of escort guns when the mp5a5 run has ended?
Magsz
Sniperx mentioned that there was the possibility of a release of the sd6 series in the near future.
Sysoosi
Wow, I hope they'll never stop doing things like this (you know I'd be angry if they stopped doing these when I get a good salary ).
Prometheus
Why is it called an "Escort" MP5? Do you have to pay $6000, and does it go with you to fancy parties ... does it do more for you?
enzo100
YES! I can get my YE MP5 BACK
Kipper
Why is it called an "Escort" MP5? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> it uses the escort gas blowback system
Prometheus
it uses the escort gas blowback system <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok, thanks.
commandercolt
Price could make or break this for me. The only things that make me shy away from classics are the lack of available mags, and hop up (the only reasons I sold my mp-40) so since this escort mp5 has eliminated both those problems, I'm close to sold. Should we expect a price around that of the Sun Project M-16 series?
enzo100
hope so
gazchap
Where did you put in the gas on the YE MP5? In the mag? Where is the gas going to go on this? Pistol grip?
hitmanNo2
Would come from an external air rig.
WMH
it uses the escort gas blowback system <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok, thanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And it is made by Escort Corporation. You may be familiar with the Escort hand grenades. Home page: http://escort.ftw.jp/index.html Should we expect a price around that of the Sun Project M-16 series? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Price is TBA. Hopefully somewhere in that ballpark. Gazchap: Like hitman said. This gun, like all YE MP5s and Escort guns, is powered via external air. HPA or Co2 with a regulator. ahibadiboo
DEAR GOD. I WANT! I've been searching for a reliable GBB MP5 since I started airsofting. If someone gets one, I'll trade my uber MP5 AND my FMV USP Tactical for it! When is this going to hit stores? and how much is the SP M16 anyway?
TDS
Apparently the first run is 50, and if sniperx is the only distributor, you better buy some lube before you hear of that price.
AustinWolv
how much is the SP M16 anyway? Roughly $500-520 shipped to the US in stock form. When is this going to hit stores? No date mentioned. Major retailer is supposedly going to have them also.
Bob the Angry Potato
Ah, ######... an external air rig? Damnitall, I'll hate that.
AustinWolv
Ah, ######... an external air rig? Damnitall, I'll hate that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The common comment heard about such guns. The external rig hasn't bothered me at all. Easy to route through modern rigs so it is low-profile and doesn't catch on anything. I've had my various headsets catch on more things than my rig's hose.
