BentleyCntlGT
Is there a guide anywhere on here on how to get that worn out paint look? Like in the link below? I searched but could only find wearing metal... http://www.sordaustralia.com/images/sordin...rtf2patrol1.jpg
TheKurodaVagrant
Here's a simple guide: 1) Take your gun. 2) Paint it. 3) Use it.
DarkLite
Seriously people, it's as easy as: 1) Paint gun. 2) Dry paint. 3) Tie cord to front sight and other end to belt, then run around in circles proclaiming the dark lord is nigh on a large patch of gravel or concrete. TheKurodaVagrant
DarkLite- that's one hell of a third step. *badum-tsh*

Souske
Very dusty looking, I like! Looks like those rifles that's been painted, then the paint removed for some reason. I've seen M4A1s like that in pictures in the sandbox.
[BS]_MARS
A lot of times weapons are painted and then the soldier is told that isn't ok. Thus they would remove it.
Souske
Oh ok. I've been wondering they the hell I've been seeing so many painted M4s recently with conventional troops....including the M4s with APs that weren't being used as DMRs.
deepsix
my old , and long sold , VFC AKSU only pics I have left of her... all very subtle weathering/wearing, but as authentic as I could get it. Edited January 4, 2008 by deepsix

TheKurodaVagrant
I thought I'd contribute some of my battle-worn gear to the thread. And by battle-worn, I mean BATTLE worn. Or at least training worn. All the black on the LBV is gone! It was even field repaired, note the mismatched rings on the buttpack: Mmmm, old school! Souske
Some new experimentation this time... I sprayed silicone oil on the surface to be sprayed (normally a BIG no no), but this doesn't allow the paint to stick on as well. After spraying (before fully dried), I took a dish washing scour pad (fairly new) and scrubbed the heck out of it. I then made a dark gray wash (diluted) and just lathed the gun with it to tone down the color. No sandpaper used this time either.
rainbow5ive
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g228/Bla...19/DSC01501.jpg It looks like it's sitting in one of Saddam's palaces that the US troops have requisitioned for bases.
