chris u'5
thanks base gun is a WE m4 -King arms Ras -G&P flash hider -VFC QD silencer -SG m900a replica -G&P aimpoint -G&G chopped BUIS Yup it sure is a nice looking rifle. If your intention is to go for the Mk.18 look then you may want to change the front end to a KAC RIS and perhaps invest in an AN/PEQ2 (VFC are the best in regards to battery boxes or G&P if you want to spend some cash and want a functioning unit) In regards to a crane stock I have the CA version and it is perfectly fine but if you want to treat yourself then go for the VFC version. And you could finish off with a CQD rear sling mount. Of course you may not be going for that look at all but if you are... Anyway, can I please ask if your G&P flashider is completely compatible with your VFC KAC QD silencer? I'm currently using both a G&P flashider and G&P KAC silencer but I would like to switch to the VFC version of the silencer but I would have to use either the G&P flashider or source a RS KAC QD flashider as the VFC only comes in a CCW thread and the WE is CW. I'd love to hear your findings mate, I was told by someone they don't work together. Oh and does your silencer stay in place what with the WE M4 recoil? One more question How do you find your Surefire replica and where did you buy it? Thanks Lee Edit. I've just looked at your profile and it seems you are one step ahead of me! I see you are already looking to buy most of the parts I mentioned! Edited June 8, 2009 by chris u'
PlasticMag
M0ldyM!lk, I suggest getting a TangoDown style vertical grip, as that one is great for one thing - wrist fatigue.

M0ldyM!LK
great looking carbine, but isnt that magnifier too low to use? -Joe It does sit low, but it still works. With the way it is now, random light and images pop in and make it rather annoying unless you sit your eye right on top of it. Hence why I have a small riser coming in for it. And as for the TangoDown grip -- I really like them, however I can't bring myself to pay $50-$80 for a plastic stick. Anyone know where I can get one (or a clone even) for cheap? So long as it has the slot for a pressure switch, I'll be happy.

M0ldyM!LK
Speaking of MOE handguards, why are the PTS versions more expensive than the 'real' ones? You can get them straight from Magpul for $30.
Reincarnation...
Speaking of MOE handguards, why are the PTS versions more expensive than the 'real' ones? You can get them straight from Magpul for $30. Well Magpul MOE handguards "cannot be exported from the United States of America without a valid export permit from the U.S. State Dept." Magpul PTS wanted to replica them for market group who do not live in US of A. If you check an oversea based retailer, PTS version are about $30+shipping; on par with the real deal when it comes to the price. So with US based retailer importing them oversea because that are part of the Magpul PTS product line, the US based retailer have to increase the price to compensate the cost to get them to the States and still make profit. Retailers are just hoping Americans will just pick up the PTS version without considering about the 'real deal' Magpul when making a purchase; hey if you weren't part of an airsoft forum, how would you know the 'real deal' will work also. Or at least that is what I think is going on.

uscmCorps
Speaking of MOE handguards, why are the PTS versions more expensive than the 'real' ones? You can get them straight from Magpul for $30. The PTS MOE handguards have slightly different molding to accommodate batteries. The real ones have the inner heat shield to help disperse heat from the barrel. The PTS MOE handguards are manufactured in HK in much lower quantities than the RS handguards as there's more demand for the RS handguards. When you produce product in smaller quantities, your unit cost goes up. When a US based retailer has to import the product, in order to maintain sane profit margins, their price will often be greater than that of the product's price when sold in it's native country (HK). It's actually pretty impressive that PTS was able to keep their MSRP relatively close to the RS MSRP given how small a quantity are made for the airsoft market compared to the RS market. It's pretty simple economics really. That said, if you live in the US, I see no reason to buy PTS parts when you have access to the RS counterpart. Things like PMAGs and the ASAP, for example, I'd happily buy PTS on the other hand ... but then again, my mentality has always been to get the absolute best that I can buy. renegadecow
There's supposedly a chinese made MOE handguard already going around. I don't know if they really are rip offs though as I recently bought a pair and everything is the same as with the PTS, even down to the box. Only difference is it costs $18. Maybe the HK factory upped its production to lower price or subcontracted a mainland factory?
ChrisWPA
I dont see why they make a clone of PTS/Real when the real and pts are around $30 :/ I can see why they make clones of DD/Eotech/UBRs etc, but something so cheap makes no sense.
rws591
Because they aren't legal for export. PTS's main market is not in the US, so they make products that most people cannot get unless they make it.

I see you are already looking to buy most of the parts I mentioned! Yep the mk18 is exactly what i'm going for. I just got a CA RIS to replace the RAS that I had but the rail sits a little too high, higher than the rails on the receiver and theres some issue with fitment. A VFC crane stock is on the way and cqd sling plate from ebaybanned. My flash hider that i'm currently using right now is a G&P but it doesn't have the QD notch so it stays on but the silencer rotates if you turn it. Suprisingly it does stay in place when firing though. The m900 replica is made by SG(standard gear) that I bought off someone on ASR. Evike has it for $80 but with a throw lever mount instead of the screw in ones.

Interesting to hear about the flashider. I have a G&P QD flashider as I mentioned so I'm assuming then that it should work perfectly well with the VFC KAC QD silencer? I was lucky enough to snag a RS CQD rear sling mount from ebay (it aint so easy for us guys in the UK to get RS stuff sent to us!) Let me know how you find the VFC crane stock, I'm tempted by one of those too Anyway, congrats again on the rifle.
