Nothing really special, I got this today in a swap for my M14. I added a little length to the outer barrel so the silencer looks longer and put my aimpoint on there. I think it looks pretty good but I plan to get a tan CASV, body and emod. After that I'm not sure.

Thanks guys. Yes, it is indeed a Shrike...well, an attempt at the Shrike. Didn't want to spend $800 on a Shrike kit, so I bought NewbKiller's custom, did some of my own work, and I'm left with that. Looks like I'll actually need to dump another $300, not $200, on it, though...but it'll wind up with a tacticool bipod and everything once it's done...

The UTG bipod just doesn't cut it, lol.

P.S. So...Viper = Connery? Didn't know you changed your bloody name!

Edit: Here's a wonky Ghost Recon style rendering of the Shrike I'm trying to create.

The 'production' model has a rounded handguard, as ARES ditched the M249 style. So my custom replica is closer to that of the prototype model.

Edit 2: Another picture...for good measure. Still need to break out the spray paint...

Mattmaniac, how's the quality of the plastic? Specifically the crane stock. DBoy's crane stock is one of the stocks I'm wrestling with buying (due to pure economical reasons).

The quality of plastic varies throughout the gun, the rail protectors are a fairly good looking, strong, textured plastic. The grip is a very nice polymer/fibre sort of stuff and is extremily strong, and the crane stock looks like the cheapest of the lot, it's slightly shiney and not as well textured as the rest. It also wobbles a little on my gun. Aside from all this it is made of very strong plastic, I can't easily bend anything on it by hand and the rubber on the butt is tough but soft enough at the same time.

Hope that helps

Haha, then it won't be legal in the state of California anymore with their horrible gun laws.

Sheesh, that PTW's more tricked out than 80% of actual AR15s out there.

Shoot, he's got more money on there than BOTH of my real AR15s....friggin crazy Titleist!

hah, thanks guys. Yeah real AR upper receiver, and CNC'd 6061 Prime lower. And yeah, California has made it it's mission to make gunlaws suck here.

Move to Texas....you won't regret it. Well, except for the weather, hahaha.

No kidding...seriously. Here I am, being a cheap bum and trying to use my G&P AP on my actual AR.
