The War Department have sent in details of their RECONDO school 2010 which will be taking place from 6th-8th of August in Washington state:

Perhaps the most celebrated and well respected airsoft event year after year is the Hooah Airsoft RECONDO School and it will once again be held in the lush jungles of Western Washington USA August 6-8th 2010.  It is co hosted by The War Department who put on top quality WW2 and Vietnam events.

As much a living history event and theatrical immersion simulating SE Asia in the late 60s this small unit patrol leaders course includes subjects such as patrolling, stealth, immediate action drills, art of the ambush, RTO procedures, Quick Kill (reactive marksmanship) Night operations, and more.  Chief instructor and special guest is SSGT (ret.)Cal Rollins, board member of the Special Operations Association, one time over the fence SOG operator and a real time instructor at the famous Nha Trang RECONDO school in Vietnam.  The lessons learned are applied in simulated missions against a dedicated corp of NVA and VC and carefully selected authentic role players.

The cost is $185.00 which includes pre-work, course materials, on site instruction and coaching, camp billets and chow.

Once enrolled you will be assigned to a six man patrol and will be observed and graded by veteran NCOs and Officers.  Only those able to successfully lead a patrol and demonstrate the skills taught will be awarded the RECONDO patch which is legitimately something to be quite proud of.
