Introducing the new Mac11 silencer from Airsoft World:
An innovative product exclusive to Airsoft World Ltd – AND it’s made in the UK! This idea was brought to us by one of our customers who just happens to have connections to the metalworking business.
The idea? A solid aluminium ‘silencer’ for the Mac 11 which splits to reveal a 14mm CCW thread onto which you can attach a different silencer, or maybe a tracer unit…
Some months later, we are proud to reveal the fruits of that labour. Machined from solid aluminium billet and anodised (not painted) black, the two parts can be unscrewed and an aftermarket silencer can be screwed on.
On it’s own it adds real weight and presence to the Mac 11, but the added versatility really does open a world of possibilities! It does make a bit of difference to the sound, not really ‘silenced’ more a bit – "thuddy" as it smooths out any resonance from the gun. You might also catch what appears to be a whiff of smoke from the silencer as the cooling gas dissipates!
Just in case you wondered, there doesn’t seem to be any significant increase in velocity, we recorded a slight rise with the silencer in place, however accuracy does improve for two reasons: firstly the added weight counteracts the tendency of the Mac to bounce around in full auto and secondly it gives you a whole solid chunk of metal to hang on to!
