ARES Polish assault rifle replica now available

by News Fairy

Gunfire have sent over the latest airsoft news from Poland. The long awaited replica of the standard service rifle of the Polish army has finally hit the shelves:

The replica of famous Polish assault Rifle now available by ARES

The wz. 96 Beryl is a Polish assault rifle, fed with 5,56x45mm NATO cartridges, designed to replace the 7.62x39mm AK-47 and 5.45x39mm Tantal used in the Polish Armed Forces in the last decades. It has already become the standard issued service rifle for the modernized Polish Armed Forces and proved to be a trustworthy and hardy combination of sturdiness typical for the AK-47 with precision and accuracy comparable to the modern arms of the western world.

For quite a time already has the Polish airsoft community done much to supply itself with replicas of the wz. 96 Beryl assault rifle. That was usually done by converting Kalashnikov AEG rifles with use of airsoft modification parts as well as elements from the real steel. Sometimes it worked just fine, sometimes – not that good. But these times are over.

ARES, together with the “Łucznik” (“Archer”) Arms Company from Radom in Poland, the manufacturer of the real steel Beryl, have announced to have started the project of introducing an AEG wz. 96 replica into the market. The first steps have already been taken – “Łucznik” has supplied ARES with blueprints and all technical data needed to give the project a kick-off, and works on the prototype have already begun. Thanks to that, the Polish fans of the Beryl as well as all other airsoft players around the world fond of the Polish GROM or FORMOZA special forces units will soon have the opportunity to get their hands on a well-made and fully licensed airsoft replica of supposedly the most important assault rifle in the history of the modern Polish Army.
